The moment I heard about the Cape Breton ATV Excursion in Nova Scotia, I knew it was a must-do. The anticipation built as we crossed the Seal Island Bridge and ascended Kelly’s Mountain, stopping briefly to soak in the breathtaking views at St. Ann’s look-off. The air was crisp, the scenery was stunning, and the excitement was palpable.

Upon arrival at Hunter’s Mountain, we were greeted by Cathy and Turk, our hosts for the day. Their warm welcome set the tone for what promised to be an unforgettable adventure. As a former professional athlete, I appreciated their emphasis on safety and their expertise in navigating the trails. With helmets secured and spirits high, we were ready to hit the trails.

Our guide, a Canadian Safety Council qualified ATV/UTV operator, led us through the backwoods with precision and confidence. The camaraderie among our group was infectious, and it wasn’t long before we were all laughing and sharing stories as we navigated the rugged landscape.

As we climbed higher into the Highlands, the views became even more spectacular. The Cape Clear look-off, perched at over 1,500 feet, offered an unparalleled panorama of the Margaree River and the surrounding highlands. It was a moment of pure awe, a reminder of the untamed beauty that still exists in the world.

No adventure is complete without a hearty meal, and our trailside lunch did not disappoint. Surrounded by nature, we enjoyed a delicious spread provided by TNT Outdoor Adventures. It was the perfect opportunity to refuel and reflect on the day’s experiences.
