Highlights
  • Novo Hopovo monastery - Serb Orthodox monastery on the Fruška Gora mountain.
  • Monastery Grgeteg - Serb Orthodox monastery on the Fruška Gora mountain
  • Velika Remeta Monastery - Serb Orthodox monastery on the Fruška Gora mountain
  • Krusedol Monastery - Serb Orthodox monastery on the Fruška Gora mountain
  • Orthodox Cathedral of St Nicholas - Ortodox Church in the city center of Sremski Karlovci
  • The Grammar School (Gymanzium) - the oldest secondary school in Serbia.
  • Sremski Karlovci - Sremski Karlovci is situated on the bank of the river Danube, 8 kilometres (5 miles) from Novi Sad. According to the 2011 census results, it has a population of 8,750 inhabitants. The town has traditionally been known as the seat of the Serbian Orthodox Church in the Habsburg Monarchy, as well as political and cultural capital of Serbian Vojvodina after the May Assembly and during the Revolution in 1848.
  • Museum of Beekeeping and Wine Cellar Zivanovic - This small museum covers, unsurprisingly, beekeeping and winemaking. While you’re here, it’d be a crime not to try (and buy) a few glasses of the local wine, bermet. The wine degustation includes seven different wines and three types of honey.

Beautiful experience of amazing Serbia - Very nice experience in the beautiful serbian hilly countryside with amazingly beautiful full of history monasteries. Zarko is a very nice, accomodating and knowledgebale guide. We also met very hospitable nuns in some monasteries and were gifted with food and souvenirs. Highly recommended 5 star tour.

Perfect day trip from Novi Sad - Wonderful day trip from Novi Sad to Fruska Gora and Sremski Karlovci. The tour is not too rushed and you get to see 3 different monasteries. The wine tasting in Srmski Karlovci was very nice, and it was interesting to try some different types of Serbian wines. Returned to Novi Sad early enough in the afternoon to have a late lunch and enjoy the afternoon/evening without being too tired. Guide was informative and gave great information.

Cultural, peaceful, & educational - We cannot say enough wonderful things about this experience! Blanketed in snow the national park was stunning to drive through and the monasteries we visited were exquisite in each of their unique beauty. The winery we stopped at offered a delightful tasting of wines and honey (yes, honey!). Our tour guide, Žarko, was beyond knowledgeable about the monasteries, wine, Serbian history and was deeply passionate about sharing his beautiful culture with us. It was like spending the morning/early afternoon with a good friend! We would highly recommend this experience!

Orthodox Christianity Atmosphere - Informative and authentic excursion of the four Orthodox monasteries and one wine tasting. Monasteries date back to 15th century. It was very atmospheric. Wine was good, and we got a couple of bottles of Bermet.

Appreciated that we had... - Appreciated that we had the option of either wine tasting or the Patriarchal Palace museum. Guide also dropped us off at the top of the Fortress in town so that we could explore more on our own.

Great way to see the monasteries and the historic town of Sremski karlovci! - Convenient way to explore the Fruska Gora monasteries as difficult to go otherwise by public buses. We also went to sremski village for wine and honey tasting and had a quick look at the town . The guide was very informative and friendly! We were comfortable throughout our trip. However, we would recommend more information from the organisation prior to the trip, including who + car plate number to expect on pick up.

Beautiful monasteries. Little information - The monasteries and the landscape were impressive and beautiful. But the tour guide had very little to say. That was disappointing. He was more of a driver than a tour guide.
