A statue of a poet - If you are in Novi Sad, in Vojvodina, North Serbia be sure to admire the statue of Jovan Jovanovich Zmai, just by the Bishops House at the north end of Zmai Jovina- the great yellow Mary Church is at the other end. This is not a statue of some military hero, this is a statue of a poet, and not just a poet- one who wrote mainly for children. Good to see such a person honoured- most Serbian children have encountered Zmai, and he has a fine statue.
