Sun, Sea, and Ceviche: A Puerto Vallarta Adventure
Trading my surfboard for a fishing rod, I embarked on a sun-soaked adventure in Puerto Vallarta. Join me as I explore the vibrant marine life and savor the freshest ceviche on a luxurious yacht.
Setting Sail on the Florero Yacht
As a seasoned surfer, I’ve spent countless hours riding the waves and exploring the vibrant coastal towns of Central America. But this time, I decided to trade my surfboard for a fishing rod and snorkel gear in the beautiful waters of Puerto Vallarta. The allure of the ocean is irresistible, and when I heard about the Fishing and Snorkeling Adventure, I knew it was time to dive into a new kind of adventure.
The day began at the Paradise Village Public Pier, where the Florero Yacht awaited us. This wasn’t just any boat; it was a floating paradise, spacious enough to accommodate our group of 19 with room to spare. The crew welcomed us aboard with warm smiles and a promise of an unforgettable day. Captain Antelmo, with his easygoing demeanor, encouraged us to set our own pace for the day. It was clear from the start that this wasn’t just a fishing trip; it was a full-blown oceanic experience.
A Culinary Journey at Sea
As we cruised through the bay, the sun kissed our skin, and the salty breeze filled the air. Our first stop was a prime fishing spot, where we cast our lines in hopes of catching the day’s ceviche. Chef Francisco was a maestro in the tiny kitchen, transforming our catch into a culinary masterpiece. Watching him work was mesmerizing; his knife skills were as sharp as the flavors he conjured.
Meanwhile, Kevin, our bartender, ensured our glasses were never empty. His energy was infectious, and he even took a plunge into the ocean to deliver drinks to those of us who couldn’t resist the call of the water. The camaraderie among the crew was palpable, with Cesar and Ruben orchestrating the day’s events seamlessly. Their attention to detail and genuine kindness made us feel like we were among friends.
Snorkeling and Sunbathing
After savoring the freshest ceviche I’ve ever tasted, it was time to explore the underwater world. Snorkeling in the crystal-clear waters of Puerto Vallarta was a revelation. The vibrant marine life danced around us, a kaleidoscope of colors and movement. It was a reminder of why I fell in love with the ocean in the first place.
As the day unfolded, we anchored at a secluded beach, a hidden gem where time seemed to stand still. We spent the afternoon swimming, sunbathing, and indulging in the delicious spread prepared by Francisco. The kids, with fishing rods in hand, continued their quest for the perfect catch, their laughter echoing across the water.
Photographer Ed captured these moments with an unobtrusive grace, his lens preserving memories that felt as natural as the day itself. By the time we returned to the marina, our hearts were full, and our spirits were lifted. This wasn’t just a day on the water; it was a celebration of life, family, and the boundless beauty of the ocean.
