Additional Information

The International Military Tribunal carried out the Major War Criminals Trial in Nuremberg from November 20, 1945, to October 1, 1946. As a byproduct, Courtroom 600 in Nuremberg’s Palace of Justice became globally infamous. Post this trial, from 1946 to 1949, the same courtroom witnessed 12 ‘Subsequent Trials’ conducted solely by U.S. military tribunals.

Even today, in the southeast corner of Nuremberg, the remnants of buildings that once stood on the former Nazi Party Rally Grounds leave visitors awestruck with their sheer size, bearing stark witness to the National Socialist regime’s megalomania. This 4-square-mile area was designed to serve as a monumental backdrop for the Nazi party rallies, showcasing their dominance to not just Germany but the entire world.

Remember, The Palace of Justice is NOT OPEN ON TUESDAYS.

Great Nuremberg tour - Great tour from Rob who was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable. We were only three in the group. The tour was due to last 3 hours but he went beyond the time by half an hour and dropped us off near the castle instead of the start point for the tour. We learnt so much! Highly recommend.

Never forget - One of our shore excursions on the Tauck Danube Cruise was a visit to the Nuremberg's most famous Nazi sites. This included the Nazi Party Rally Grounds which today host many modern concerts and events. Hitler was expert at using propaganda and molding the population's opinions to his cause. Standing on the parade grounds you can feel the energy of Hitler's messaging. The most sobering site is Courtroom 600 in the Justice Building, where the Nuremberg trials were held. The video presentation there was really over the top and worth seeing as it melded the scene of the courtroom today with what it looked like populated during the trial. It is impressive that the Germans are not hiding this horrific period in their history, but want people not to forget the atrocities that occurred during this period of time with the hope that it never happens again. There is a lot to do and see in Nuremberg. I recommend you also, don't forget.

A wonderful experience that met our needs. - This was the shorter of the WWII tours offered but it more than met our expectations. Our guide Rob was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic as he shared with us the history of the area. Due to an accident on the way to pick us up he was delayed but Suzarts contacted us about the delay and all was fine, great communication.

Nuremberg Tour - The tour was out standing because it was just me and my wife. The guide was very knowledgeable and we were able to interact one on one. I was a history teacher and learned so much information regarding the trials and rally grounds. Definitely would recommend!!!

Bucket List Tick - Going to the rally ground sites was a thing I was going to do but never got round to it until now, as a WW2 history buff, especially on the rise and fall of the Third Reich this was a must do. The rally ground are huge, you get to see and stand where these rallies took place, the sheer scale of them is overwhelming, You get to see Zeppelin Field and various other sites until ending up at the court room. You have to pay an extra 6 euros to enter the courtroom and exhibition which is the floor above. The only reason I have not given this a 5 star rating is that we only had 25 minutes at the courthouse and realistically you need twice this. Overall value for money and our guide Rob was knowledgeable

Very Interesting Tour - Really enjoyed this tour and our guide (Rod) was friendly, informative and very knowledgeable on the subject. We would have liked a little more time at the courtroom exhibition, but realise that the tour has some time constraints, otherwise it was good value for money and I would recommend it.

Very disappointed - A very bad tour paid to see the palace of justice only got to take a picture outside was told it was closed. The so-called tour guide lets you take a couple of pictures of yourself and then tells you sorry we need to run along now because he has to fetch his children. Read off basically the information that's actually already there. I really wanted to see the palace of justice I paid specifically for it and the day of the tour I get told sorry it's closed I should have realized then, I was the only customer on this so-called tour. He was no third reich historian actually he was out of his league. Charging people over 130 British pounds what a scam I will be contacting Paypal to get a partial refund and I will do a different tour group. Very disappointed waited of 20 years to see this and I thought I was ripped off.
