From here you will embark on a discovery of Nuremberg that offers a fascinating insight into the city’s treasure trove of stories and, sometimes dark, secrets.
The tour is expertly written and designed by our team of historians and archaeologists and superbly narrated by recording artist Noah Kershishnik of Audible fame.
Highlight One:
Discover the Church of Our Lady, a sublime example of Gothic brick architecture. Many of its impressive array of sculptures have been significantly restored after the church was almost destroyed in the Second World War.

The need to rebuild was a fate shared by many of Nuremberg’s buildings including Altes Rathaus, or Old Town Hall where you will encounter an awe-inspiring rebuild of the hall’s spire as well as the monumental painted frescoes.

Hello and welcome to Nuremberg, the birthplace of the revered artist Albrecht Durer, who is one of the finest painters and engravers from Germany, and a city adorned with rich art and architectural heritage.
Ideally explored by foot, our DIY audio tour enables you to go at your own speed and take time in discovering the tales embedded in this charming medieval city.
You will get to know about a historical city hall adorned with massive painted frescoes, centuries-old buildings, and the monumental Nuremberg castle standing high above the city.
All you need to do is download our self-guided audio tour, plug in your earphones, open the map that’s included in your download, and make your way to the tour’s starting point. The tour is estimated to take about 2 hours, but you can always pause the audio guide as required. Feel free to grab something to eat or indulge in some shopping as you go along.

Exellent - he audio tour information was up to date and we enjoyed this walking tour very much. Download first to avoid roaming charges if you are from overseas.

Issues but we would do again - We had issues with download but might just be us. We only had iPhones. It took sometime to download audio tour and map. We had good WIFI at our hotel where we downloaded. We had to keep an eye on the download, it paused, we could tap and would continue on. The audio part of tour was excellent, broken up into individual audio pieces for each stop. Another issue map would disappear so would have to open again thru download but we only have 2G data once we left our hotel. Tour was informative and interesting. Since broken up into pieces, we could stop have a lunch and visit museums, just continue on with tour when ready. Even with glitches we would do again.

Did not work as advertised, would not recommend. - When prompted to download, I was directed to another site. It required another payment which I paid. The downloaded file periodically cut off on its own and when I paused the audio, it would automatically return to the beginning. I gave up. This was a waste of money. Note - this is the only negative experience I've had, all other Viator experiences have been outstanding.

Audio keep quitting and have to restart the app. So annoying we could not finish. - Good information in the sections but at several stops, the audio would just stop at the same place and it was not our service as we had a good reception. This happened over and over again and it would have to get completely restart the app and our section then find our place where we left off. The point of the app is to do it at your own pace not have to stop and do the audio over and over again! it was just too frustrating and we never finished. It makes me hesitant to purchase any of the other tours.
