Highlights
  • Reichsparteigelande (Nazi Party Rally Grounds) - The Nazi Party Rally Grounds were called the area in the southeast of Nuremberg, where the Nazi Party rallies of the NSDAP took place from 1933 to 1938. The overall design for the design of the site came from Albert Speer in the basic concept and from Walter Brugmann in detail, who also managed the implementation. It covers a total area of over 16.5 km².
  • Documentation Center Nazi Party Rally Grounds - Documentation Center Nazi Party Rally Grounds. From 1933 to 1938, the National Socialists held their Party Rallies in Nuremberg. Today remains of huge structures still bear witness to how this propaganda display was organized and produced.
  • Zeppelinfeld - is located east of the Great Road. It consists of a large grandstand (Zeppelinhaupttribüne) with a width of 360 metres (390 yards) and a smaller stand. It was one of Albert Speer’s first works for the Nazi party and was based upon the Pergamon Altar. Its square piers are inspired by the work of Franco-American architect Paul Philippe Cret. The grandstand is famous as the building that had the swastika blown from atop it in 1945, after Germany’s fall in World War II. The name “Zeppelinfeld” or “Zeppelinwiese” refers to the fact that in August 1909 Ferdinand Graf von Zeppelin landed with one of his airships (LZ6) in this location.

Hitler’s Rise in Power with the Nazi Party and the Nuremburg Trials - Seba was an awesome guide! He was very good with our group of 8 travelers making sure to communicate so that everyone understood the commentary. His knowledge of Hitler’s rise to power in the Nazi party, the rally grounds and the Nuremberg trials was vast! His charming personality was a big plus! Such an important part of the WWII history told in a comprehensive but compassionate way.

Great Tour! - We loved the tour of WWII in Nuremberg. We were able to cover so much history in just a few hours. The guide was knowledgeable on the subject, and was able to answer our many questions. He was funny at times to try and lighten up a very dark time in history. Great tour that everyone should take.

Recommended for history buffs - We had an excellent day of touring with a great host. Really enjoyed being able to see so many historical sites and hearing the history behind each of them. I ended up scheduling this the night before because once I started mapping out trying to get to these sites individually realized it would be much better to do a tour, and I don't regret that at all.

Historic tour with super guide - A super historic trip. Our guide Rob came as agreed and picked us up in front of our hotel and was extremely pleasant driver and drove us around safely on the trip. He was a super cute, fresh and fantastic guide who could tell a lot and vivid about the history of Nuremberg. He also made stops to buy drinks and toilet visits. It was a trip that gave substance to reflect on the history of that time!

Lively lovers of WWII history! - Seba was a lively, helpful, and interesting guide. The places that we went were critical to understanding the history associated with the rise and the fall of the Third Reich. The guide made all the difference between what could have been a stale tour and was instead very much making the history come alive in a relevant way. I liked the way the tour took a nuanced approach to a complex topic.

Good Explanation - Rob gave a very good explanation of the rise and fall of the Nazi Party in Germany to give context to all of the sites. We thought that the length was good. It takes some mental strength to stay locked in 100% of the time because it is so much information.

Small Group Van Tour - This was a small group tour. It was my son and I, as well as 2 couples who happened to sign up for the tour the same day. The tour guide was a real character but also very informative on the subject matter. The tour drove you right up to the sites that you were seeing. Although one site was blocked by construction for an event. At the end of the tour the guide was very helpful suggesting places that we could buy souvenirs and he was also flexible about dropping us off where we could shop and making sure we knew how to get back to the train station.

Less than expected - Our tour guide spoke very loudly and rapidly. He was quite difficult to understand. The historic sites however were very interesting.
