Awesome experience - Horton’s national park is a must visit place. Beyond escapes arranged the tour nicely and the guide Anjana was very good, friendly and professional. He knew the details, where to go, where to find things and where to capture the most scenic view. Lunch was also nicely arranged. Overall, worth the time you spend there

Seamless experience - If you are looking for a hassle free day trip whilst visiting Nuwara Eliya I would highly recommend booking with Beyond Escapes. It was a seamless experience right from booking to the day of the tour. Communication with the operator was always prompt and answered fully. Our driver Anjana was very professional, spoke English very well and was very informative and attentive to our needs. He arrived on time and accompanied us on the walking tour and was well versed in the history and animal life in the area having over 40 years experience. As for the Horton Plains tour be prepared with plenty of water and good hiking shoes. It is around a 9km walk over varying terrain. Lunch venue was fantastic and 2 course meal included. Drinks were paid for separately and the tea plantation offered a chance to get hands on with tea plucking and a tour of the tea processing plant. Overall it was a very pleasant day and was good value for money. e are very satisfied customers.

How to get best value from your visit! - You don't need to book through an agent. Just SLR 200 pp (£1) if you just pitch up for a tour. Get a Tuk Tuk from town, about 10 minutes away. Very interesting visit.

Horton Plains - Horton Plains was Amazing, the van provided was NOT, we were actually scared at one point going up the steep hills to get to the destination, it was unsafe and this tour company should not be allowed to operate with a van that is falling apart

Horton Plains and Pedro Tea Factory from Nuwara Eliya - This tour cost us £127 for 2 people. The driver was lovely, and a good driver. He told us lots about the things we could see from the car. However, this trip did not include a guided nature walk around Horton Plains. the driver drops you off and you walk around the park yourself (i.e. without a guide). Horton Plains was lovely and it was good to see that good environmental care is being taken to ensure that rubbish is not left at Horton Plains. Our driver met us in then car park after our walk and took us to the hotel for lunch. Unfortunately we were the last ones for the buffet lunch so there were literally only the last scrapings of food left for us to eat. They also charged us 200 rupees for water. Our driver then took us to the tea factory where we had a 20 minute talk and walk through the tea factory. You cannot take photos in most areas of the factory. We then, on our accord went out and had a wander through the tea fields which was very nice. We were given a free tea at the end of the tour. Unfortunately the tour does not include tasting some of the different types of tea. We enjoyed the day tour but it wasn't quite as described on the advert and it was a little overpriced for what it was.
