This factory is famous for producing some of Ceylon’s finest teas and is part of an estate that was established nearly 150 years ago, making it one of the oldest tea plantations on the island.
Visitors who take the time to observe the tea manufacturing process can then take a short stroll to the highly sought-after “DAMRO LABOOKELLIE TEA LOUNGE.” This lounge offers stunning views of tea gardens in various shades of green that blanket the surrounding hills and valleys. Observant visitors may also spot tea pluckers skillfully harvesting the tender two leaves and a bud.
- Ramboda Waterfall - Ramboda Falls stands at 109 meters (358 feet) high, making it the 11th highest waterfall in Sri Lanka and the 729th highest in the world. It is located in the Pussellawa area, along the A5 highway at Ramboda Pass. The waterfall is formed by the Panna Oya, a tributary of the Kothmale Oya, and is situated at an altitude of 945 meters (3,100 feet) above sea level.
- Gregory Lake - Gregory Lake was created in 1873 by the then British-era Governor, Sir William Gregory, supposedly to provide electricity. However, after its construction, the lake was primarily used for leisure and recreation. At the height of its popularity, Gregory Lake was the most prominent attraction in the area and served as a relaxing spot for many visitors.
