Beautiful sunset cruise (perfect for an engagement proposal) - We had an amazing trip with Trai and Matt. The sunset cruise was beautiful and we even went sailing. They also helped me preparing for engagement proposal, and made beautiful foto’s and video’s of it. My fiancé loved it! Thanks a lot for the amazing trip and memories!

Wonderful adventure with some nice surprises! - Captain Perry did a wonderful job! He was very accommodating to what we wanted to do and even got us some champagne for our anniversary, a very nice touch! It was nice to have a private cruise where we didn’t have to deal with a lot of people. It allowed us to even change up our route when we spotted some whales. Captain Perry was a great guide for u, I would highly recommend!

Amazing Sunset Sail - This was such an amazing experience! Kayla and Tyre were exceptional hosts. They were kind, knowledgeable, and great conversationalists. When one of our party members got sea sick, they were super accommodating and sweet. We loved that we could hook up to a bluetooth speaker to listen to jams while relaxing. We also got to see some whales and it was incredible! Really great sunset sail. Definitely recommend!

Outstanding sunset cruise with whales - We had a wonderful experience on our sunset cruise with the family. Sami and Tyre were great as captain and first mate. Tyre spotted whales from a distance and set a course to a spot where we hoped we would see them come up again. They did, and really close too. The sunset was also gorgeous. All in all a memorable night for all.

An Intimate Sailing Adventure Near Waikiki - We chartered Honolulu Sailing's Gaugin sailboat for a three-hour "Sunset Sailing/Snorkeling" private tour to celebrate our anniversary.  This tour is a great option for one or two couples, or perhaps a small family, who want to enjoy the beautiful waters near Waikiki on a vessel that isn't packed with tourists. We boarded the Gaugin from the marina at the Kewalo Basin Harbor, which is between Waikiki and Downtown Honolulu. Captain Rick, an experienced sailor, welcomed us onboard, and First Mate Sebastian offered to stow our possessions. Sebastian said he would be happy to do whatever he could to make our journey comfortable, safe, and fun. He did not disappoint us. The Gaugin has a covered passenger section in the aft part of the boat that seats four comfortably with table between them. There is also space near the bow where you can sit or stand. (If the ocean is choppy, you'll need to hold onto the mast or ropes when you're upfront.) Below deck, there is a small galley with a refrigerator, stove, and table, as well as two bathrooms.    We brought our own cooked food and beverages, which Sebastian brought up to us from the galley whenever we wanted. He also reheated the food that needed to be served warm, and he cleaned up afterwards. Although his primary job is to help the captain and ensure our safety, he couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Sadly, Mother Nature was less cooperative. It was cloudy and cool most of the time (unusual for late April), and light rain fell intermittently.  Captain Rick went further offshore than he had planned to escape the rain, which was heavier near the shore. Unfortunately, the weather prevented us from seeing a beautiful ocean sunset, which we had been looking forward to.  Nevertheless, we still had a really good time on the boat, had some nice picture-taking opportunities near Diamond Head, Waikiki, and Kakaako, and we enjoyed learning about sailing from Captain Rick and Sebastian, and hearing about some of their previous adventures. Incidentally, I had made our reservation through the Honolulu Sailing Co. web site. When I first attempted to pay, my credit card was unexpectedly declined. A few minutes later, I got an email from my bank asking if I had initiated this purchase and wanted it to be approved. That was a little scary, but I took a chance and said yes, and I was then able to complete the transaction . I can imagine that many prospective passengers experiencing a similar credit card issue would simply switch to a different sailing company. If my experience was common, Honolulu Sailing without realizing it may be missing out on potential customers.

Beautiful Sunset, Calming Night - Our crew, Nora and Captain Rick, were incredibly nice and easy going. We were able to bring food and drinks onto the boat and play our own music. It was such a neat and beautiful experience being out on the water as the sun was setting. I would highly recommend doing this if you are coming to O'ahu!! Very well worth it!!

Magical Aloha Sunset Sail - Our family of 6 booked the sunset sail with Honolulu Sailing Company and it was the highlight of our trip! Michelle was a pleasure to manage the booking with and gave us lots of great information and directions. The crew was very friendly and the boat was in very good shape. You may bring on whatever food and drinks you want and there is time for swimming and snorkeling if you want. So glad we got to experience Honolulu from the water and go home with this beautiful family memory.

There was no boat! No show for private sunset sail!! - This was the worst experience ever. Do no book with this tour operator. I booked a $700 private sunset sailing experience for my mothers 50th birthday as a surprise. We got a confirmation for the booking. We were told we needed to bring our own food and beverages, which was surprising given the cost of this experience. We picked up our picnic supplies and then caught an Uber to the dock. When we got there there was no boat! We sat there for an hour, with our plans for a special birthday evening ruined. Then we paid for an Uber back to the hotel. I emailed and called numerous times before the reservation and also while waiting at the dock. We never got any response from anyone. Luckily Trip Advisor got involved and they did refund my money within 24 hours, but still no feedback or replies of any kind from the tour operator, and also no reimbursement for the food and beverages we purchased, nor the two Uber rides. I’m still trying to get these reimbursed as I think that’s only fair. You can’t put a price on ruining my moms special day. You only turn 50 once. This operator should be banned from Trip Advisor, but sadly they will probably close this account and just open a new one. Be wary of booking with any operator that doesn’t already have a lot of five star reviews.
