Perfect for us- a little on your own with enough guidance! - The snorkeling was great, so good to be there early in the morning- more fish and less people. Our driver was excellent, informative and super service oriented. I thought the gear was in great condition, but even so my husband’s mask strap broke. They were very quick to come back and replace it. Overall I would highly recommend!

Great time with Kaimana Tours - Kaimana Tours went above and beyond our expectations! Our driver was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the island, sharing fascinating insights about celebrity homes, historic craters, and notable landmarks. The tour was well-organized—we were the first ones in at the bay and had all the equipment we needed. As first-time snorkelers, we really appreciated the driver’s clear instructions on using the gear, making us feel comfortable and confident in the water. Thanks to Kaimana Tours, we had an unforgettable day. Highly recommend!

I'm in love with Hawaii - It is truly amazing. Not a snorkeling adventure for everyone, the reef/rocks were too scary for my novice friends. But I enjoyed it so much. So many fish. To top it off there was a monkey seal napping on shore.

Unsafe, delayed transportation. Basically a mediocre car service. - Mediocre. We had to wait for a second van to get us before dawn after the first van didn’t have enough seats for all. The second van did not have enough seats either, so one adult passenger had to sit on another adult’s lap even though she paid for a seat. How is that acceptable? Safe? The driver dropped us at Hanauma Bay and then promptly “deputized” a passenger to handle leading our group, paying fees, etc. I realize a monkey could lead the group and pay the fees collected from passengers, but I could have called a cab, right? And would Hanover been guaranteed a seat. There were very few fish to see when snorkeling, but I don’t expect a lot of fish on snorkel excursions in Waikiki. The tour company had no control over fish, but did a mediocre job with the things they did control.

Lines - First you have to pay for the experience. To get there the parking lot fills up full by like 8a. When you finally get there you stand in line until a worker directs you to move to the next line. Make sure you are in the right line, as they don't explain where you are supposed to be. To move to the second line you have to show your reservations. In the second line you will be asked to show your reservation to move to the third line. After a wait you will then move to the theater to watch a 9 minute video (don't worry there are bars to lean on if you are tired from all the standing) Then you are free to go to the beach.
