Great tour and tasting - Emily was great! Very knowledgeable and we had a lot in common. We like good cocktails and wine. Tasting was awesome. We shared a classic and cocktail tastings.

Fun experience - Very informative but also fun. My 4 year old even had a great time, they gave her gelato and she got to see the giant turtle.

Do NOT miss visiting Kohana - Kohana Rum is an absolute gem and a must see if you come to Oahu. I will preface this by saying that I’m a rum nerd (or at least an enthusiast), so for me a distillery visit and tour is great fun. The people at Kohana are amazing, friendly, open, welcoming, and totally transparent about everything they do. This is a small, craft operation and you can really tell how much the employees love their product and company. Believe me, not all distilleries are like this. Tiffany, Ian and Nick showed us all around the place, answered all kinds of questions - from the sugar cane and its varietals and how they harvest, to fermentation, to the distillation itself, to their various barrel aging techniques. Along the way we got to taste delicious rums and that was before even the official tasting. The rums themselves are fabulous. Kohana does Agricole style rums, so distilled from fresh pressed sugar cane. They have a wide variety of styles from unaged and grassy to barrel aged and mellower. All the rums we tasted were amazing and some are only available at the distillery so get them while you’re there. There’s food available, and of course some merch (I couldn’t resist!). Spend the afternoon drinking delicious rums, what more could you ask for? Visit this place, you won’t regret it.

Cool experience - Great tour/tasting! You get to learn about the different types of sugar cane that go into the rum, visit the barrel room and get to taste a few different rum varieties. I went with the aged rum upgrade and I don’t regret it. Great flavor and rum overall!

Hawaiian Sugar Cane Rum, Yum! - Great little place located just outside Honolulu. They brew all their rum from locally grow sugar cane. Our tour guide was excellent as she showed us around the property and told us how they brew the rum. You get to taste 4 different rums depending on your tour level as well as some other products they make like honey, chocolate, etc.... We all had a great time here and bought rum, honey, etc in the onsite gift shop. You get a free tasting glass at the end of the tour as well.

Great experience - Excellent overview of the rum making process. I had no idea there were so many varieties of Sugar Cain and how they differ. The tasting was also great. Highly recommend. Don’t know how we didn’t know about these guys for so many trips. Also recommend their new cocktail line.

Disappointed - Although Emily did a good job as the guide, the day we went the distillery was closed. It would have been fair to let us know ahead of time or offer us the ability to cancel or reschedule at check-in.
