Great way to hit the island highlights in a day - Really great tour around the island with great views and you get to take a dip into the water at the base of Waimea waterfall (be ready, water is COLD). Life jackets were provided at the waterfall for free. Anthony was an amazing guide and gave us not only a historical guide through the island, but a perspective from someone that’s lived on the islands for decades and has a ton of stories from his experiences. I would do another tour just because of Anthony!

Awesome guide. - Rob was absolutely the best guide! His wealth of information combined with his sense of humor made the experience truly delightful. I wholeheartedly recommend Rob and Memory Shuttle for the Island tour! I really appreciated all the helpful information he shared with us even before we arrived. It made our adventure even more enjoyable!

King Rob was the best tour guide I have had on the Islands ever - My wife took this tour September 24th 2024. I have taken so many tours on the 4 major tourist visited islands, and Rob the tour guide was far and away the most knowledgeable and thorough in all the facts and history of the islands. History is my thing and I have some of the places before but I / we learned so much more from King Rob. I could write 3 pages but I will simplify this to : This was fantastic and worth double what we paid. Rob is definitely "ohana! A hui hou

Byodo Temple and Waimea Falls - Our tour leader, Rob, was fantastic and told us a lot of interesting stories and sights. My friend and I had never been to Byodo Temple or Waimea Falls. He gave us a trip which we will remember for a long time.

Around the island fun - Great fun - Byodo Temple was very nice. Had a very good time swimming in Waimea falls! Also macadamia farm was great and so bought local fresh nuts. Yummy 😋. Overall good time and nice way to see most of the island. Mahalo

Great sights; Overwhelming guide - The sites that we visited on the tour were great; Halona Blowhole was great, the Temple was beautiful and serene, and the waterfall was a great time to take in some natural beauty. If the tour was just taking in the sights, this trip would have been a five-star trip, easily. My wife was pregnant and we were able to take breaks because there were places to sit nearly everywhere we went. The tour guide, Rob, started the tour great. Got us chuckling as we all were kind of awkward meeting other members of the tour group for the first time. He is definitely an extrovert. And he seemed genuine in his passion to share knowledge about the sites and their histories. And his food recommendations were on point! I wish Rob had stuck to giving background and context; not inserting his thoughts, rumors he heard, and straight up gossip (which he insinuated was okay to talk about since he prefaced that it was "the story" that everyone was telling). But after a couple of stops, his commentary veered towards the strangely political and weirdly racist (if I have to hear someone say "Chinaman" unironically one more time, or innuendos about Mormons, or about Australians and Indians, or about cancel culture...). After the last stop, we had a long stretch of highway to get back to our hotel, which was going to take about an hour and a half, according to Google. Rob took this time to not only talk the whole time (through a microphone turned up so loud it was clipping), but go on several tangents about Obama and the politics of Hawaii. Some of it was actually very interesting - especially about the former Queen of Hawaii - but most of it was unrelated to anything we had seen or heard that day. Adding insult to injury was the fact that he acknowledged that we all looked tired, but that he'd keep our spirits up with jokes. I really would have appreciated a silent ride back in peace and quiet. I think the worst part of the experience was around timing. The tour seems to be pretty well established, and even with Oahu traffic as it is, I doubt it's so unreliable that the tour operators don't know how long things should take (obviously, Google was able to guess accurately how long the last stretch would take). We asked - quite reasonably, I think - what time we should expect to be back at the hotel, and Rob - quite understandably - responded that it could change depending on traffic. However, multiple times throughout the trip, Rob made it a point to call my wife out by name to direct everyone's attention to how bad traffic was and how hard it was to time our arrival. And then, at the end of the trip, after nearly one and a half hours of non-stop talking, he parked the bus at the first hotel (which was thankfully our stop) and started a prepared speech about Hawaiian words (something similar to what I've heard on other tours about "a hui hou," and "not saying goodbye"). I was very frustrated at this point, since this could have been timed during stop-and-go traffic on Ala Moana so that we weren't sitting lame as a captive audience in a bus parking lot. To his credit, Rob saw us stand up and he eventually opened the door for us and we were able to get off the bus. TL;DR, the sights and locations were wonderful. The rest has put us off full-day tours.

Terrible Experience—Tour Bus Never Showed Up - Our tour bus NEVER showed up and neither we nor Viator could make contact with the tour company (Memory Shuttles) to arrange for our pickup. We arrived at the meeting place early (at 6:35 a.m.!) and we were waiting at exactly the right address. We had a full-day tour booked and paid $567 in advance).. Clearly, we expect a full refund, but in addition, this terrible experience took a full day of experiencing Oahu away from us. As they say in reviews, I would have given zero stars since we received zero services, but I had to enter 1 star in order to explain the rating.

Buyer beware! - Do not purchase this trip. When something sounds too good to be true, it usually is. I received an email at 6:30am the day before the tour telling me there where not enough people and asking me to go on another day. I tried to call-the number is out of service! I sent a message saying I could not go the day offered; what do I do. No response. Left two more messages before I finally called Viator to cancel and ask for a refund. The next morning I received a phone call from the driver asking me where I was; he was at the meeting point to pick me up. I told him what happened and he laughed/like it’s happened before. I had already booked a different tour. Find another tour. Way too much stress with this one.
