Great diving spots. Totally worth it!!! - Amazing experience. Very friendly staff and everything was on time. I tool Basic Open Water and Advanced Open Water Big shout out to Mr. Hussein, Ms. Erin, Ms. Savannah and Mr. Derek. I learned a lot from them. And they made my course adventurous and easy. A massive 5 star and would love to dive with them again. You can skip this part of review if you want: I do suggest everyone to get all your paperwork and all the pre qualifications checked in well in advance. They wouldn't know your special requirements but they will definitely help you find the best solution if you let them know about it in advance.

Family friendly, teen friendly scuba certification with Hussein! Highly recommend! - 10/10 recommend!!! Could not be happier with our open water certification experience!!! Hussein was our dive instructor and he was absolutely AMAZING!!! So patient and knowledgeable, he really took care with me and my son to make sure we were safe and comfortable for the entire experience! We also had Daniel with us the first day as a candidate to qualify to be a dive instructor and he was amazing too! Really made sure we were ready to do the skills with Hussein and was just wonderful as well. They both had such great attitudes and really made the experience! On our second day, we got to meet Hussein’s wife, which just really made our certification dive special! Really could feel that this is a family orientated company! Everyone was so friendly and supportive. I absolutely loved the option to get certified in one weekend, that really made the difference for me and my schedule to be able to do this! If you’re looking to get certified, there’s no better way than with Aloha Scuba, and if you can, with Hussein as your instructor! Thank you!

Good diving - Overall a good class with good instructors. We would dive with them again. The dive sights were great!! Lots of one on one instruction.

Open Water Certification with Aloha Scuba Diving Company - At 60 and facing retirement I decided to get certified in scuba on a trip to Oahu. Aloha Scuba Diving Company was excellent from the first contact right to getting my certification notice from PADI. They answered all my questions when making my reservation and had good advice on what would make my experience better. I even stopped by the shop early to ask a few followups and they were welcoming. Instructors Swayze and Rob led us through a review of the important online info, equipment and briefing of what we would be doing before each dive. I never felt rushed and the pace was good for all 6 of us in the class. Besides me there were two other 30 year olds and 3 kids maybe 10-15. Swayze made sure we each knew what we needed to know and it was obvious that he understood each of us as individuals. The confined water dive took place in a protected lagoon and the afternoon's shore dive right next door. The two open water dives were maybe a 15 minute boat ride away in about 40 feet of water. The bottom was mostly sandy and flat and I appreciated that I didn't have to worry about damaging a reef while I tried to control buoyancy. I had to surface earlier than the group for the first dive, Rob took me up and handed me off to the divemaster. He had me complete a couple skills on the surface before boarding. They had me get in first on the second dive so I could finish two skills before the rest of the group entered. After that it was a tour along the bottom with lots of fish, a dozen or so turtles and other life. All in all a great experience.

OWC - I got my open water certification, and my instructor Hussein was the best! He was kind, patient, and cares so much about what he does!

Open Water Scuba 2 Tank Dive - I went on a Scuba trip with my boyfriend to some shallow reefs off Waikiki. The scuba master (Alex) and the captain were both very professional, helpful, and all around had great customer service.

Confidence and Clarity - Highly recommend for any/all of your diving needs. I got my open water and immediately planned my advanced dives with them the following week. Professional, quality rental gear (included) in cost!

Amazing and absolutely recommended - It was amazing. The instructor Saul was very patient and explained everything very easy to follow. The Crew on the Diamond T 2 was awesome. Had a lot of fun. Highly recommended.

Highly recommend for dives in Hawaï or to pass your padi - Great experience through out! We have chosen Aloha scuba diving company to pass our advanced open water, and I’m so glad we did. The entire experience was amazing, from randomly finding the boat on the Harbor and meeting Henry to booking at the office to the actual dives. The crew is great, super friendly, safety first, and our teacher Henry was just great. He made us feel super comfortable and brought us to these amazing diving sites especially the wrecks where we saw amazing huge turtles in this turquoise sea. I couldn’t recommend enough Aloha Scuba Diving company it has such a family feel. We passed our advanced padi with them and it was such a breeze. We have done 5 dives but We wish we could have done even more if we would have stayed longer. A bit of a trip from Europe but whenever we have the chance we will be back! Thanks for the lifetime memory!

One Bad Apple - I'll start by saying that if it wasn't for the guy in charge of the dive, I would be rating this 10 stars out of 5. Everyone else I dealt with was professional, knowledgable, and kind. But the fish rots at the head, as they say, and this fish head's name (I believe), is Saul Flores. Dreadful. We all met at the Starbucks in the Ala Moana Hotel for orientation for the Open Water Certification course. And it immediately got off to a bad start. He laid the review test and pencil in front of each of us. My (18 yr old) son and I turned it over and started reading the first question. 'Do NOT touch the paper until I tell you to.' So we immediately replaced it on the table. He slowly walks over, looks down at us. 'Are we going to have a problem here?' So odd. Such attitude. I would have asked why the attitude, especially when we both did exactly what he asked. But my son is mortified if I engage in any public confrontation, so I clam up. He then says that 'we're going to do things a little differently this time.' He then proceeds to read each question AND the answers. I knew these answers because I completed the eLearning course, and felt cheated of the accomplishment. But during the eLearning course, I was under a time crunch and forewent the optional section. Saul Flores then tells us that it was a mistake, and it was not optional and hands out the charts to calculate estimated nitrogen levels/depth/time between dives. No worries, because he pretty much gives us the answer to these as well. Cut to: out in the water at Magic Island Lagoon for the 'contained' portion of the training. Here they split our group and I luck-out getting placed with Michael Swayze. Even in this shallow water (approx 6 ft), I had a moment of claustrophobia wearing wet suit, mask, and regulator. This coupled with a moment of mild panic, as I just couldn't seem to regulate my intake and expulsion of air through the regulator. Swayze allowed me to surface, regroup, and try again. All good. A lunch break, then the first section of the open water in the afternoon. Out on the boat. Cool breeze. Scorching sun. Beautiful view. Holding mask and regulator firmly to face, we take turns stepping from port side and plunging into the water. I surface, signal 'OK,' grasp the mooring line, and realise that there's a sizeable lump of panic quickly rising in my throat. Mask half full and foggy, regulator doesn't want to stay firmly in mouth. I instinctively try to inhale through my nose. Bad idea. The plastic of the mask sucks into my nostrils, adding to that closed-in feeling. Now in full panic, trying to suck air through the regulator, but no room in lungs for more. Now everyone's waiting for me, but I can't calm myself in time. Saul Flores says that they must go. I totally understand and am full of apologies. I watch them all disappear under the surface. Michael Swayze leads me to the stern where I grab a floating ladder on a hinge. He then submerges to join the diving party. This leaves me with Derek, the ship's captain as well as a professional diver himself. He kind of looks like a tough guy, but is one of the most kind, empathetic, caring people I've met. For the next 20 min I float there, holding the ladder and intermittently laying face down in the water getting used to the regulator as Derek 'talks me down.' He jokes, tells me anecdotes, comforts, and calms. By the time he's finished, I tell him that I don't want to leave Hawaii without finishing the program. He gets on the two-way radio and sets up a make-up session for me. I pay a bit extra, but I'm taking a bit extra. When the group returns, I ask Swayze if he can instruct me. He can. He leads me through my first open water dive immediately. He has the patience of a saint, waiting as I acclimate at every step. I stifle a mild panic, but all is smooth. The following day Swayze leads me gently through every exercise. This time the panic is replaced with focus. I'm almost enjoying it. I finish the remaining 3 days with more relief than joy. I had no idea that this was going to bring me so close to terror and dread, but the satisfaction on the other side was well worth it. In fact, I plan on continuing back home near Malibu until I'm 'conversant' in the water. If not for Derek and Swayze, I wouldn't feel anything like this. It would have been all failure and shame, and an even greater fear of diving. I owe them for their humanity and forbearance. Good folk. As for Saul Flores, he wasn't the cause of my panic, but his attitude certainly didn't help. He set a tone of distrust from the start. How do I feel that from someone, and yet trust them with my life? Impossible. I'm not good around poseurs. They get on my 'life's too short' list very quickly. My son later told me that Saul pulled a small octopus from a rock crevice. That confirms everything I thought of him.
