808 Surf School will make sure you get the best conditions at the best location for your skill level. Upon receiving booking confirmation I will contact you and give you the lesson location according to the ocean conditions for that day. On the day of the lesson we will have a short meet and greet then begin a 10-15 minute land briefing where we will go over surfing basics and ocean safety. After that we will get in the water and enjoy catching many waves as you improve your skills. It is also highly likely we will see many Hawaiian sea turtles throughout the lesson. All surf lessons are 2 hours long and all equipment is included. Instructors are lifeguard and Red Cross CPR certified.

AWESOME!!! - This was a great experience! Andy did an amazing job making sure we understood everything before getting in the water. I would definitely take lessons from him again! He is very encouraging and patient when he teaches, and tells you what adjustments to make when needed.

Best surf school in Oahu!! Highly recommend - Our surf experience with 808 surf school was a 10/10. Both Mike and Andy were extremely friendly, helpful and fun!!! They made my first experience surfing something I will not forget. A MUST DO when visiting Oahu, looking forward to going back.

best day on oahu, 10/10 experience - This was the best surf experience i’ve ever had as a beginner surfer. Mike was so helpful & fun & you walk away feeling like you’ve known him forever. Best thing we’ve done on the island! We will definitely be booking with them for all future trips

Awesome first-time surfing experience for our teens - My three teens (ages 13-18) had an awesome first-time surfing trip with Hugo!! They loved it so much they went back for another excursion with him the next day! We were grateful for Hugo’s instruction and kindness, but Hugo expressed his genuine gratitude for us. The surf school also importantly chose a suitable location for us - and literally we were the only surfers learning out there at that time, so we definitely appreciated not being in a crowded place.

Great instructors and A LOT of FUN! - 808 Surfing is a GREAT experience! We got lessons for 3 of us (2 girls 6&8 yrs old) first time surfing. Hugo was our instructor and as a dad taking lessons with his daughters, Hugo was awesome. He catered to the kids and made them feel comfortable and ensured they had fun!

Great experience! - My 3 kids did a private lesson today with Andy. Our experience from booking with Mike to surfing with Andy was top notch. He was so great with the kids, incredibly accommodating and went above and beyond to give them an amazing unforgettable experience. Not only did they have a blast but they were up and surfing in no time at all. I would highly recommend 808 surf school.

Mahalo for a great experience! - Our family had a private group surf lesson with Hugo and Andy and it was a lot of fun. They were very personable and professional and made us feel comfortable. The communication was good and they were prepared when we arrived. We even had jugs of warm water to rinse off with after it was over. Every single person in our group was standing up on the board on the first and second try. Would definitely use this group again. They even gave us dinner and snorkeling recommendations. Mahalo!

Surfing on Oahu - Up on the North Shore of Oahu for our son’s wedding. We booked 3 separate sessions with Andy at 808 Surf School and everyone had a great time. 12 different surfers, mainly beginners and everyone got up and had a blast!! Andy is super encouraging and you get a ton of reps which is what you want. We’re excited to come back and take it to the next level!!

A MUST-Do in Oahu - Going surfing was definitely a MUST to our trip to Oahu. We had Andy for our private group session with friends. Andy was a phenomenal instructor with great energy and so much fun! He directed us to a pretty quiet spot on the north shore and the waves just kept on coming! By the end of the lesson, we were all able to catch awesome waves. He provided all our gear, water to rinse off after, and then took our group photo. He made sure we all had a great time and provided some great recommendations for other things to do on our visit to Hawai’i. Thank you Andy!!!
