Everything we asked for and nothing we didn’t. - JP gave us a wonderful customised experience. He was super accommodating leaving out the things we were not interested in and adding others that he knew we would enjoy. He gave us plenty of time to enjoy the beautiful spots on the island and was always ready to go when we were. Thank you JP, we had a fantastic time!

Great value and great experience - This was an awesome tour. We booked their custom circle Island tour. It was a great value. Our guide, Conroy, was super friendly and knowledgeable about the area. He was more than happy to accommodate custom requests where he could and even showed us a few other spots he thought we'd like. The vehicle was roomy, super clean, and comfortable. Conroy was a good driver and very courteous to others on the road. My fiance and I had a great time and looking forward to booking other expeditions through them in the future! Thank you for making our first trip in Hawaii such a success!!

Wonderful tour! - Our first trip to Honolulu was great thanks to JP who was a wonderful tour guide and host. We visited several amazing sites suggested by our host as well as a few other places on our list. JP was knowledgeable about history of the island, and we had a wonderful relaxing day. The shrimp place on the side of the road we stopped for lunch was an unexpected delight. The food was delicious. The van was nice, but a little difficult to get in and out of for two elderly ladies. Overall, we had a great day and would highly recommend JP as your tour guide.

Awesome tour for a first-timer in the island! - Best thing to do as a first timer in the island! Our tour guide, JP, was very informative and knowledgeable of the different sights. We were able to hit a lot of the spots, and even those we weren’t expecting to see in Hawaii. He was also very warm and accommodating with the places we wanted to visit. The van was very clean, too!

Grand day out - Our custom tour was well worth it. Carey made sure we saw all we wanted to see in the one day. He had great knowledge of the things that interested me: the plants, nature and local history.

Amazing Tour - This is a great tour. It’s completely customizable and flexible. The driver, Carey, was very knowledgeable and personable. Ask for Carey to be your tour guide when you book this trip because he is extremely patient and has great stories. You will really enjoy the tour.

Very good tour, but there was a communication SNAFU - Our trip was very good. Our driver was nice, and he took us to the places we wanted to visit. The only downer on this experience is that we booked it through an online website, and somehow the reservation didn't get transferred to Custom Island Tours. After they were 20 minutes late to pick us up, we called and they scrambled to find a driver. So we waited, and we got started about an hour and a half late. They need to fix this communication problem. If you use them, I would call an hour before pickup to verify that they are sending someone.

Below par! - We definitely were on an excursion with this company. We always pick private tours because you get a better experience - though not this time . The driver was late and only greeted one person in our party. JP’s tour covered the island but was done in a lacklustre manner. Lots of big sighs , shifting in the driving seat , driving too close to vehicles in front, braking sharply and information recalled in a bored manner. The stop for dining at the trucks was the only suggestion and not a pleasant one. Maybe JP was having a bad day to our detriment!No snacks or cold drinks available. Just not anywhere close to our previous and post private excursions. Incidentally, my other reviews of tours have been awarded 4 and 5 stars .Please check them out on Viator , Get my Guide , Trustpilot etc. This company may may well have excellent, enthusiastic employees that deliver a trip worth the price but sadly this wasn’t our case .

Not the best private tour. - Having a private tour is usually much better than travelling with a large coach journey . In fact , we have just completed three other private trips around Kauai, Maui and Hilo.All have been great with enthusiastic guides who have drinks available in a cool bag and snacks. This was different. Our guide JP was a little late turning up and while he said hello to my husband , he didn’t introduce himself to us. Through the whole trip he kept sighing and shifting in his seat . Several times he had to brake suddenly because we were too close to the car in front. Although he was knowledgeable about the island, he seemed really bored and just reeled off information. Only warm water was available and stored in the boot of the car. Hated the stop at the food trucks. It was grubby and unhygienic with primitive, dirty toilets. The plus point was that the car was comfortable and clean .

Not Great - We did not really enjoy this trip. Our guide seemed disinterested and as if this was a bit of a chore for him. He kept fidgeting in his seat and sighing and coughing. We didn't really see any wildlife or turtles. Our lunch stop was at food trucks, which were not appealing. We did not feel as if we saw that much and were glad when the trip was over. We saw beach viewing points and not much else.
