Big Wave Dave at Surf & Coffee - What Will Happen During My Lesson?
You can expect that your first lesson will start on the beach with your instructor. You will spend about 20 minutes learning proper water safety and etiquette, paddling technique, turning the surfboard, maneuvering over waves and positioning to stand up and ride your first wave. The rest of the time, about an hour to an hour and a half, is spent in the water learning to stand up and ride waves.
Once you stand up on your board for your first time, you will understand why surfers are so stoked all the time.

Best Surfing Lesson! - The guys made my birthday surf session amazing! Everything was easy, they had a rash guard for me and a giant surfboard.

Teenage Great Lesson Great Time - The instructor Sione from Big Wave Dave was a good teacher and was very friendly.
Only thing is Viator said the surf shirt/guard was included and it was not. Had to pay $5 each extra.

Paul made it so easy and fun! - Paul was our instructor and he was so fun! Great instructor and we felt super safe going out on the water with him. We both caught a few waves each and it was the best time. Saw a turtle swimming under me when I was catching a wave! So beautiful, would definitely come back here again.

Amazing instructors! - A huge shout out to Aleka and Lee, our instructors, who were simply amazing! We both got up (everyone in our group did) and they were genuinely thrilled for us! Their knowledge and love of the water and waves is evident and they could read each of the five students and what each needed for support. Fabulous teachers! From the moment we arrived for the dry land training to the time out on the waves to the rejuvenating coffee at the cafe: we give ten stars out of five!

Making dreams come true - My 17 year old had a blast learning to surf with Alika. She was in a group lesson with a family of three and a couple. She was able to catch numerous waves during her lesson.
We even returned the next day and rented a board from Chanin. Thanks for the awesome service!!
