Great visit - Was working at Schofield Barracks and staying in Waikiki at the Double Tree Alana. A basic hotel about a block from the beach. Nice, quiet and clean hotel. Our commute each was anywhere from 40 to 60 minutes, depending on the traffic. Traffic can be pain, so we had to leave early and come back late. After work, we would usually go up to the North Shore and visit the beaches. They are stunningly beautiful and a site to behold. For dinners, we tried many different places. Haleiwa Joe’s on the North Shore was absolutely the best. The food trucks in Waikiki, near our hotel, were fun and surprisingly good. Since we had to leave early everyday, the nearby ABC store was my go to for. Breakfast. Coffee, yogurt and perhap a malasada were my go to. Rum Fire at the Sheraton is an exquisite restaurant, a must, for sure. On our last night we went for Pupus at the Pupu House, highly recommended. Lot’s of great sites and good people watching.

Awesomeness - Be prepared to slide off the pier to get in a dingy and be transported to the bigger boat, all in your bare feet ( shoes left on the pier). They know their whales and spotted a “comp pod” way in the distance and got us there for awesomeness.

Fabulous Star of Honolulu - Absolutely worth the time and money. Beautiful AHIP and crew. Elevator access if needed. Saw many whales! We would do again. Less than $100 for both of us.

Great whale-watching experience - Obviously it was magical seeing the whales, but in addition, the crew was professional and knowledgeable, the boat was clean and spacious, plenty of options to watch for whales, and I like that it is handicapped accessible, even though we didnt personally need that. Really glad we made the time to do it. Very well worth it!

Rose’s Aloha Dream Team - Let me just say KATELYN awesome job with Whale Facts. Sarina thank you for keeping my son engaged (Autism isn’t a joke) but you treated my son with respect and showed him that calf breach and your kindness will be remembered (I’m ugly crying). Rose your spirit of Aloha shows in your staff and those Mango-Ladas keep them coming or in fact add that to the menu. John Michael “Where’s the Sun” lol. Rose your team of staff this morning made the start of our trip one to remember. Go Long Horns!!!!!!!!

Highly recommend - We saw several whales including a week old baby! It was quite a site to see. The announcer was as very informative. She had a lot of information not only about whales but about the island as well. Highly recommend putting this on your to do list!

Choose another company - I spotted spouts before the crew and everyone had to wait for the captain to announce, which they did not. Once whales spotted, notice was unclear and we let too fast. The bar was unfriendly and poor quality. I’d choose another company.

Refund was only good for 3 months. Not a fair guarantee for tourists - Beautiful views of Oahu coast. But unfortunately no sighting of whales They offer a return trip if there are no sightings of whales. But, the guarantee of seeing whales or ride again, must be completed within 3/6 months. Not a great deal for tourists that will never make it back in their time frame.
