A must-do in Chicago! - We were glad that this was included in our City Pass, because we really wanted to visit it. My parents had already been here many years ago, but for me and my sister it was our first visit. We both like architecture, so we found it really interesting. Here are a few of my observations. - The House & Studio are an impressive location. Unique and very well preserved. - The tour guides, which were volunteers, were extremely kind, charismatic, well-informed and patient. Unfortunately, I don’t remember our guide’s name, but he was key to making our visit memorable. He made sure we all felt welcome and listened to. We had a couple of Japanese tourists in our tour, and he even spoke a bit of Japanese to them! - The shop has amazing (though a bit pricey) souvenirs. - It is a bit far away from the City Downtown, but it’s easy to get here by train or bus. Plus, the house is located in a nice neighborhood. - The tour takes about an hour. And, after you finish, don’t forget to check out the rest of the FLW houses nearby (you can only see them from the outside and from afar, but it’s worth it). In general, this was a great experience and I highly suggest visiting!

Beautiful late 19th century house designed by Wright - If you only have the opportunity to visit a Frank Lloyd Writgh play in Chicago that is this. The house is in excellent condition, with all its furnishings and has expert guides who help you understand the design, the principles of the operation of the house and the studio and the time when it was built. This design included the maximum technological advances of the late nineteenth century, and represented a way of spreading the new American architecture that would so impact the twentieth century. It is an admirable construction in a very nice neighborhood almost an hour away from downtown Chicago. It can be accessed by metro or bus. It is definitely advisable to do it by subway as it is faster and the blue line is a much cleaner and safer outer line than the rest of the Chicago subway. If you like the design the architecture do not miss it.

Excellent tour - Fascinating view into FLW’s early work and family life. His house was a work-in-progress as his craft evolved and his family needs changed. Our tour guide was enthusiastic and extremely knowledgeable, pointing out many intriguing architectural and design details and how they related to his visions for the home and the work environment.

Illuminating. Great for all art and architecture fans - The home and studio tour was richly interesting and illuminating. We thought we knew about Frank Lloyd Wright but this was a fascinating illustration and discussion of what drove his work. A foundation of modernism in architecture. Karl our guide was great
