A great exposure to indigenous culture and capabilities. - Visits to Hierve de Agua, Tule Tree and Mizla, and visit to the weaving factory were all excellent, as was tour guides discussions of independently-administered towns & cities, and indigenous cultures that long preceded the Spanish. Think tour could be shortened to omit mezcal stop.

For those who likes hikes and nature scenery - Our guide, Zenón, was very patient and drove us all the way to Hierve de agua while explaining the trip itinerary and the formation of hierve de agua and its cultural significance. He speaks both Spanish and English fluently and is an incredible tour guide. Definitely go here if you’re up for a hike and amazing scenery.

The Most Oaxacan Experience Ever - This was an amazing trip and a great opportunity to truly learn about the local Oaxacan culture. They picked us up from the hotel, which was much more convenient than having to meet somewhere. At first I was hesitant about it being a tourist trap, but it was a great option, given that we did not have a car and wanted to visit Hierve el Agua. The tour guide was great and he spoke both English and Spanish, since there was a mix of Americans and Mexicans. We all had a blast, especially at the mezcal tasting, and everyone in the group was easygoing and we all got along great.

We had my husband and I on crutches and some really cute little kids in our van and we all had a great time getting to know each other. The mezcal distillery was a great addition and the lunch we stopped for was fantastic too!

ENGLISH TOUR WAS IN SPANISH - The tour was supposed to be in English, but ended up being in Spanish. The tour guide was good, but didn’t know any English. I was only able to understand about 50% of what was being said so I missed out on a lot of the tour. I would recommend finding a tour with a different company if you want a tour in English. It is possible that this was a mistake, but I never heard back from the company. I will update this review if anything changes.
