10/10 Spiritual Immersive Experience - Hallowen in Oaxaca we booked this tour as a group of 3 to go out to the Cempasúchil (marigold) fields and to have a small group alter building experience. Our shaman, Sergio, did a cleansing ceremony after he greeted us. We sat out in the campo, had fresh jicama straight from the ground, and had a mezcal that we tosted to the earth with for its abundance and gifts. Next we headed to the fields. We cut our flowers, Cemasuchil and Borrla, to present for the alter and then with Sergio’s guidance, we all went to put it together. He explained what each step represented and why all the symbolism. We ate a Oaxacan buffet and after got a chance to visit Sergio’s tonas shop.

Authentic ofrenda experience - Very authentic feeling experience where we learnt much more about Mexican culture. It was surprisingly moving as the ofrenda was put together and some people added pictures of loved ones who has passed away. Also the meal that followed was very good and included a wide range of moles.
