Hierve el Agua - Diego led us on an incredible hike to Hierve el Agua. It was thrilling, challenging, filled with stunning beauty - an experience we will never forget. Diego is an amazing guide - he shared a wealth of information about Oaxaca (and beyond!), the natural phenomenon of the area and the community it is part of. Diego shared his passion for and the importance of sustainability while also being able to experience the majesty and beauty of Hierve el Agua. We felt like we got an insider's peak into the heart of life here. Our breakfast with a local family was nothing like we have ever experienced before - and was delicious! Our lunch with a family in Teotitlan, of which the matriarch is a master weaver, was just as delicious and welcoming. We were served delicious local dishes cooked by the weaver herself and her wonderful daughter. Afterwards, we were treated to a fascinating demo of how the wool is spun and how the dyes are made using only what is found in nature. We brought one rug but wish we could have more! Our driver was also a wealth of information for the of Oaxacan life, culture and history. Do not miss this tour!

The Gold Standard of Hiking Tours! - Coyote Adventures built and led an amazing tour! The thoughtfulness and coordination that the tour was built with really stood out. Our guide, Mara, was a joy to meet and did an exceptional job showing us Hierve el Agua and the surrounding areas. Any needs were taken care of from a delicious breakfast to water on the trails to lunch. Coyote clearly respects and works to benefit the community by giving context for each stop. We were nervous that the textile stop would be a hard sell but could not have been more wrong! The family clearly cares about their art, are wonderful cooks, and Coyote built the section to educate on Zapotec culture. Overall, this tour is how these sort of activities should look! Would HIGHLY recommend!

Amazing tours (Hierve el Agua and Mezcal tasting) with Coyoye! - We had a wonderful experience with Coyote for a full day tour at Hierve el Agua (including a beautiful hike). We were travelling with our 8-month old baby and they were really kind in accommodating us throughout the day when needed. The guide was amazing and the food delicious. Totally worth the price! We decided to book another tour with them after that (the mezcal tasting) and it was also a beautiful experience, we had an amazing afternoon with our guide and the 2 mezcaleros we met. The company works closely with the local communities and it makes all the difference! Highly recommend for anyone visiting Oaxaca

Con corazon! Informative and Fun Hike - We were an extended family of 10, ranging in ages from 11 to 73. We were well prepared thanks to the outfitter's reminders (good shoes, water, towels, even hiking poles for one person). The day was sunny (we brought sunscreen) and the hike sometimes strenuous, but we were rewarded by a plunge in the cool pools and refreshments supplied by our guide, Diego. He was flexible and we were able to substitute a longer hike for a shorter one, adding a quick stop to meet a local mezcalero before visiting the weaving village of Teotilan. All in all, a beautiful day.

A wonderful, authentic experience! - Highly recommend this amazing experience and Coyote Aventuras in general! Everything on this tour was taken care of and perfectly planned to provide the most authentic experience. Loved coming close to the local communities and exploring the beautiful nature through the trails that no other tour will take you on. The food on the tour was great. We got traditional breakfast and lunch prepared by the locals at the places we visited. Coyote Aventuras also provided snacks/fruit/beverages during the trip, which was delicious and just what we needed! We also had a wonderful guide who was knowledgeable about the places we visited, the culture, and the environment. If you want an authentic experience that also contributes to supporting local communities and preserving the environment you should definitely go on a tour with Coyote Aventuras!

Fantastic day including culture and nature - Must do experience in Oaxaca! Our tour guide Santiago was very knowledgeable and helpful. He took the time to get to know everyone and was happy to go at the groups own pace. The tour is organised well and sensitive to local customs and environmental needs. The trip took us to the best view points to see the petrified waterfall and to some amazing swimming spots. The hike is mostly downhill but does include two uphills at the end which in the heat are a challenge. If you find the first walk difficult seriously consider the option of taking the mini bus to the next stop. The textile village is a great contrast to the main city of Oaxaca and gives a taste of local life. The home cooked food and textile demonstration was a highlight.

Hierve el Agua Highly Recommend! - Our hike to Hierve el Agua was easily a highlight of our trip to Oaxaca. In addition to our incredibly knowledgable guide Paola, Coyote Aventuras has built relationships with local communities that have lived there for generations, granting their groups access to stories, hiking trails and an additional swimming area not always available to visitors. You leave with a sense of the people and culture behind the place. Practically, Coyote Aventuras also plans snacks, beverages, breakfast and lunch into the trip so you feel well taken care of. Cannot recommend enough.

Incredible Day of Adventures! - We had the most wonderful adventure hiking and exploring local textiles with Santiago and Jorge Luis! Both meals were delicious and allowed us to have a traditional Oaxacan breakfast and lunch! There was lots of snacks provided in addition to the two large meals. At each stop there was also a local guide who provided lots of information and Santiago was able to help us translate. The company has clearly worked to build relationships with different individuals in the community to provide them business and also were very kind in making sure to provide snacks for the local guides in addition to us. We hiked a total of 10 km and had the opportunity to swim in two locations. Each guide took the time to answer lots of our questions. We would highly recommend Coyote adventures to anyone traveling to Oaxaca and hopefully can participate in another tour during our next trip!
