This is the ideal way to explore Hierve el Agua. The group will be small, allowing for a leisurely walk through the waterfalls, swimming, and relaxation, without any unnecessary stops.
The meeting point is in the center of Oaxaca. From there, the journey to Hierve el Agua will commence
(1:30 hr. [70 km]).
Upon arrival, the hike to the petrified waterfalls will begin. The group will visit the best viewpoints to enjoy breathtaking views, then proceed to the base to admire their grandeur from below. The return journey will lead to the natural pools, perfect for swimming and unwinding.
The day will conclude with a delightful lunch at local food stalls.
Afterward, the return trip to Oaxaca will begin.

Visitj to Hierve el Agua - Trip was great...comfortable and A/C car. Interesting hike before visiting the pools...everything was safe and fun!

A must do experience! - We had an amazing time on this tour—absolutely a must-do while in Oaxaca. Communication before and after the tour was excellent, everything was super clear and easy to follow.
The experience itself was perfectly paced with just the right amount of time at each stop—no unnecessary add-ons, just the real highlights. Paul, our guide, was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the day really enjoyable.
We were also joined by a local guide whose energy blew us away—speeding up the trail at 70 years old! Truly impressive and inspiring. Highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to experience the best of the area.

Great trip if you can get a place on this one… book it! You will have the best time! - This was the perfect experience. We were picked up by Paul who had such a lot of knowledge about Oaxaca which made the journey there really interesting. It was the only tour that started early and I would definitely recommend an early start, to hike when it was cool and to be the only ones in one of the pools for an hour. As we left things started to get busy and the amazing atmosphere was lost. Paul had so much knowledge of the area, the rocks and the plants it was fantastic. On the way back we stopped for lunch in the most delicious food market which we would never have discovered on our own. All in all the trip couldn’t have been better. If you are at all unsure which trip to book…. I would 200 percent recommend this one. The best day. Thank you Paul.

We loved our morning... - We loved our morning here, Paul was a really enthusiastic and informative guide and it was a small group of lovely people. It was also a perfect amount of time with a trip to the market for lunch which was also great! Would 100% recommend.

Excellent trip - great guide - We thoroughly enjoyed the trip to Hierve el Agua. Paul was very knowledgeable, friendly and professional.
It was good to go early in the morning so we missed the crowds and the hike was steep but very manageable. The swim afterwards was wonderful.
Paul took us to a market for lunch and we had delicious soup and tacos.
We would definitely recommend this trip and Paul as a guide.

Spectacular views, and swimming at altitude - Definitely not for the faint of heart, but well worth it. The climb was a bit of a struggle, not only due to the heat and desert like conditions, but mostly the altitude (1751 meters above sea level). The calcified waterfall is magnificent, and the pools of mineral water are very cool. One of the pools sits right at the cliff’s edge, where you can take a dip while enjoying breathtaking views. Our guide Pablo Lopez was amazing, flexible, accommodating and very helpful. I would do this again.
