Don't miss out on going to Monte Albán! - Our guide, Daniel, was very knowledgeable, about the history, the mysteries, and the archeology of the site. I learned so much, and enjoyed every minute of the trip. From pick up to drop off, the tour was professional and smoothly run. You won't regret the tour, in my opinion.

Nice Morning out - Wasn't a long trip to Monte Alban from the city. Bus was great. Driver and guide were great. So much history and a beautiful place to visit. The Museum of Santo Domingo shows a number of the items that were in Tomb 7. Amazing. Nice day out. Weather was great. We felt we had enough time there to walk around.

Racist tour guide did not know anything - Monte Alban is very cool; you should go! Unfortunately, our tour guide was horrible. In addition to truly not knowing anything (some of what he told us was directly contrary to the informational placards… even basic facts, like how many people lived there, or what various figures represented), he spent most of the time just pontificating about his own life and spouting racism and conspiracy theories. For example, when discussing the famous figures at Monte Alban called “The Dancers,” he speculated (contrary to the placards and the archeological record) that they were pictures of Zapotecs who were “disfigured” because they were the result of intermarriages with “Negroid” Olmecs. He even told us to disregard historians’ theories about why it was called “Monte Alban” and instead to trust his intuitive feelings about the “energy” of the place. Just an absurd and offensive tour. The actual site was amazing, though!
