I got to know real Oaxacan food - If you want to know the real food of Oaxaca you have to do this activity, Betsy is the most passionate and knowledgeable about Oaxacan gastronomy, she also supports local women's businesses, this is a great experience that you have to do if you visit Oaxaca. I suggest you just have a coffee before starting the tour because there are a lot of delicious foods to try

A fabulous food tour of Oaxaca markets. - An exceptional experience with a wonderful guide. Betsy had first hand knowledge of the markets and Oaxaca. Small groups of 6 people kept it personal and fun. Nobody was rushed and everyone had time to ask questions. The food stops were wonderful and introduced us to authentic Oaxacan dishes, new flavors, and a rich mixture of wonderful ingredients. You will go home full so come hungry! Very highly recommended.

We got to try things that we probably would never have experienced without the tour - it was truly excellent!

Best Food Tour Ever! - My husband and I love food tours, and this one was the best one we've ever been on. The variety of food that we tried was amazing...from traditional Oaxacan food to the various bugs found in the cuisine. The variety of food we had was far beyond any other food tour. We tried a lot of stuff! We went on this tour our first full day in town, which was perfect. After this tour, we could easily navigate the markets visiting every day during our trip. Camilla was an amazing guide and exposed us to so many different types of foods that we never would have tried. The tour was so great that we'll probably go again the next time we are in Oaxaca.

Inconsistent experience depending on the guide - We booked the tour because of all the positive reviews. However the experience did not live up to the expectation. This is mentioned in another review too - seems they are running multiple groups now almost in parallel (30 mins part). As a result they've hired new guides to lead different groups and the actual experience can vary a lot. Our guide at the time was extremely nice and kind but was fairly new to the role. As we visited different food stalls and tried out different foods, there was very limited depth in her description. We did walk pass the other group and observed very different level/depth of engagement (I believe the other one was led by Betsy). Another relatively small suggestion - as we were walking toward to the meeting point, we were notified via text that we were actually in the second group that started 30 mins later (10am instead of 9:30am as shown in the confirmation). It'd be nice to know that at least a day before. All in all, for the price point, one would expect much more.
