Take this cooking class! - This was an excellent way to immerse yourself in the Oaxacan culture. Keren was great and answered all her questions and shared her kitchen with us. She was patient and walked us through the cooking recipes. Going to the market was an experience like no other. The people were nice, the food was delicious.

A wonderful local market but go early - Be ready to be overwhelmed! We arrived early so we enjoyed an hour or so of wandering among the locals and seeing the market set up. It's a market that caters largely to locals. Don't go with the goal of hunting for crafts and souvenirs or you'll be disappointed. By about 11 the market got crazy. It was so packed that we had to squeeze through the throng at a snails pace. I'm glad we went but we were relieved to leave.
