Great experience and helpful staff - I booked a two hour morning ride with a friend with the 450cc atv’s which I recommend to do because one hour would not be enough time. They provide a driver to take you to the sand dune area and check in is one hour before and is very easy. Overall experience was great as a first timer only minus was it was cold outside so dress appropriately but that's just Oceano weather. Instructions by staff were very clear and the ATV's only took about 10-15 minutes of getting used to after that we were comfortable driving them.

ATV Rental Fun ❤️ - Lynn checked us in today and was world class! Wonderful customer service. She was as very professional and courteous. Curt got us ready on our 4-wheelers and was awesome. Gave my daughter tips because she had a quad with manual gear shift. Morey was wonderful on the dunes. Morey got my son unstuck once and we rented for 2 hours and had a blast.

One of a kind experience! - Seriously. Top notch service. Great team, from the check in crew, to the shuttle bus, to the gent that got us oriented to our rig. Maps and directions and routes were clearly explained and the course was all very well marked, on the mile marker front, the restrooms are all numbered well. The ‘danger zones’ are all well mapped, although we manage to find them. And when we DID get stuck (dummies…), we received prompt assistance and we were back on our way. Equipment was kick-ass!

Fun!!! - We used Viator to book the experience and had a great time. The only complaint was that it was supposed to come with a t-shirt and we didn’t get that.

Amazing - The service was amazing, very friendly staff. Went to celebrate my daughter 20th birthday and we had so much fun. Location is amazing and fun. Definitely going back and renting the ATV with them.

Exciting - Demo was awsome. So fun . And I felt safe. If it is under 70 degrees dress warm. Must do adventure highly recommended

Fun but not worth the 2.5 hour wait. - Once we got our ATVs we had fun and they worked well. However, we had to wait on the beach in the hot sun for 2.5 hours before they gave us our quads. Staff were super unorganized and they were serving people who arrived after us even though we had been waiting for hours. I recommend using another company such as Steve's ATV rental or BJs. Same location but probably won't make you wait for hours to get your ATVs.

Horrible! Bad business! - Sunbuggy ATV rentals at Oceano Dunes is a racketeering, zero maintenance, business and nobody should be allowed to continue to stay in business doing things like that… period! We rented a Can Am 1000 from them to take the kids for rides, paid 530 for two hours, which was what we agreed to no problem. 25 minutes into driving the transmission went out and wouldn’t drive while in high gear. We took it back and they told us that it broke down while we had it so they would have to talk to management and would talk more when we got done with our two hours. They put us in a replacement buggy (which I took pictures of) and said the brakes don’t work so it’s all gas no brakes. We are bike and quad owners, we know how to treat things, and we were not hot rodding or tearing it up. We are not those people, this was just horrible busniess! The lack of maintenance on the exchange vehicle (sand buggy) shows clearly that they do to maintain their vehicles well, and the picture of the brakes shows that there should have been usable brakes. I wasn’t happy with the either vehicle because they didn’t even climb any dunes, but they made it clear they didn’t do refunds so we went with it because it was that or nothing. Once we had taken the exchange and the time was up, we came back with the exchanged vehicle and we were told that we were going to have to agree to paying 1000 or wait and pay 4,500 after the can am was sent off to Las Vegas to be fixed. We didn’t break it, we didn’t roll it or hot rod it, didn’t drive it up any dunes because we could feel that it didn’t have the power to make it up any dunes, we didn’t do anything to it except drive it for about 25 minutes and it broke! The employee said that because it broke when we had it, we had to pay to fix it, and if we didn’t agree to the 1000 now, it was going to be 4500 later. Do not rent here!

Rip Off for Services Not Rendered - Scam of a business don't rent in advance from them not sure if they do walk ups but don't by all means give these scam artist any online reservations. They think you spending more time and money to come back out for a fulfillment on not being able to offer said Services due to weather forced Beach Closures. They will receive a negative report to the better business bureau. To Think I supported the dune initiative in favor of these con artist.

Knowingly stole more than $500 from us. Knew dunes were closed yet took money with no refunds. - This business is taking unfair advantage of customers at their Pismo Beach location. We went online and paid more than $500 for 2 dune buggy’s on the morning of April 5th, and got a phone call at 2:30 saying to contact them. We were already on the way to our 3pm appointment with them and when we arrived the facility was locked down with all equipment put away and behind a chain link fence. The woman on site came to the fence and told us the Dunes were closed, that we should have received a phone call, and that while they would issue a gift certificate, no refunds were possible. Seeing that we were 20 feet from the park warden’s station we asked what was going on and he informed us the dunes had been CLOSED FOR MORE THAN 2 WEEKS ALREADY. This business knew full well that they were unlikely to be able to deliver on services they were selling. I called their office in Las Vegas and was told by a woman that they had literally just decided to post a notice on the website about the dunes being closed. Whether or not this business discloses “no refunds” which they do, taking money from people when they know darn well they won’t be able to fulfill their end as scheduled and reserved is just terrible business. The kids were very disappointed, it wasted hours of our day when we could have gone to Hearst Castle instead, and we are out over $500 because we will never visit again and a gift certificate is useless to us….
