Don't miss Old Coach Road and TCB make it so easy - We had such a great time on the Old Coach Road today. Rental bikes are usually a bit old and worn out but not TCB's bikes - newish and beautifully maintained, the gear changes and brakes were sharp and precise. Tip: Pay the extra for the softtail bikes, the cobbles on the trail are sharp and bumpy! Everything was just smooth and easy. Old Coach Road is a must do on a bike or on foot, it's stunning. Mya set us up nicely and answered all our many and varied and interminable questions with a smile. So much fun, thanks TCB.

Stunning ride but be aware - A stunning ride. However, the advertisement includes children aged 6-14. I would not recommend this ride for children less than 12-14yrs or adults who are not particularly fit. There are some steep uphill sections and some fast very bumpy bone jarring downhills because of the large stones used to build the original road. Otherwise a wonderful ride.

Great ride to Ohakune - The ride was challenging but not too hard on a non electric bike. Loved it. My wife and I have done many rail trails in Australia and New Zealand and would say this is not a typical flat smooth surfaced Rail Trail, more like a mountain bike experience on some washed out tracks. Loved it !

Fun - Nice mountainbike. A bit challenging when you've never done this. You can also book in the village. Nice people.

Our ride on The Old Coach Trail was great! - Our ride on The Old Coach Trail was great! The trail was scenic and diverse. Elyse at TCB was great. She made the bike rental quick and easy and was able to answer all our questions. I would strongly recommend this ride.

Bumpy historical ride - Great experience with many interesting well marked points of interest along the way. Trail has several ups and downs. I found the most challenging part to be the rocks! We used just regular bikes and found myself walking at several points because of the combination of rocks and either ascent or descent.

Teeth-rattling mountain bike ride with stunning scenery - This is a real bone-rattler of a ride and not what I expected at all. Apparently it's a grade 3 mountain bike track - whatever that means - and luckily I did no research beforehand as I probably wouldn't have gone otherwise. I have no mountain bike experience, absolutely zero, and along with about half our group had to get off and walk about 50% of the time (which was fine). There were some really lovely bits but a lot of it was VERY bumpy, large cobbled rocks, slippery downhill bits, strenuous uphill. The smooth parts came as a blessed relief. Fitness-wise it's not difficult but the biking can be tricky, we walked up most of the uphill. If you are not confident on a bike I would not recommend. If you are confident mountain biking you will love this. Ladies, wear a decent sports bra. Scenery is beautiful. We went in a group of 12 with TCB. 6 adults, 6 kids ages 11-16. Some of the kids loved it, some hated it, depends on the kid. We had one fall with grazes - bring a first aid kit as TCB don't provide them. TCB were great to deal with, easy to book and took us to the start at Horopito. Bikes were great, we had no dramas. Glad I did it but would rather walk.
