• St. Jovan Kaneo - Perched on a cliff above Kaneo Beach with a view of Lake Ohrid in Ohrid, North Macedonia. The church is dedicated to John of Patmos, the author of Revelation, who some believe to be the same as John the Apostle.
• Ohrid - Explore the City center and the Old Bazaar area to see the typical houses of Ohrid. Much of the city is paved in stone, which is why it was originally called Lyhnidas, derived from Latin (a precious stone that emits light).
• Monastery of Saint Naum - After visiting Ohrid, we will drive to the Monastery of Sveti Naum, where St. Naum is also buried. This sacred site attracts people from around the world to practice their faith. Additionally, the Monastery Complex was part of the Albanian border from 1912 to 1925 before being returned to Yugoslavia. Visit Tushemisht: After crossing the Macedonian border, we will head to Albania and stop at Tushemisht. Unlike most villages in the Albanian region, it closely resembles Ohrid with its predominant Orthodox religion. We will then drive to Tirana, marking the end of our tour.
• Tsar Samuel’s Fortress - Departing Tirana at 09:00, we will head southeast toward Albania. After crossing into Macedonia, the first city we encounter is Struga, named after an ancient local legend of a young boy. Ohrid, located next to Struga, has been a cultural crossroads for centuries. Founded by ancient Illyrian and Greek tribes, it has been under various ruling systems, including Roman, Byzantine, Bulgarian, Turkish, Serbian, Yugoslavian, and now the Independent Republic of North Macedonia. Situated in the hills of the city, the fortress was built under the rule of Bulgarian Tsar Samuil in the 10th century. It is believed to have been constructed on the site of an ancient fortification from the 4th century BCE, built by Philip II.
