This remarkable site showcases natural pink granite formations, which the Incas utilized to carve enormous blocks for the construction of Ollantaytambo’s temples.
A short distance from the quarry, Intipunku (Sun Gate) is visited, a mystical site aligned with Verónica Mountain, historically used as a spiritual retreat. Here, there is free time to explore, take photos, and enjoy lunch before descending back to Ollantaytambo. The journey concludes with a return to Cusco.
