Fabulous day trip to one of modern wonders of the world - It’s a mission to get there from Cusco in rainy season - 2 hour car - 1hr 40 train - 30 mins bus - and then a moderate climb to the viewing point. But it was so worth it. We had a great driver and fabulous guide. It was invisible on arrival due to cloud but Edwin predicted precisely when it would clear, gave us great history, and when it cleared, helped with photos and innovative video. It was truly amazing and completed lifetime dream. On return lunch was excellent at Julian’s, adjacent to the river that becomes the Amazon, and return journey all worked. Long day though. But fabulous.

Not as advertised - Not as private as they advertised. Part of the trip you have to handle on your own. Not everyone is professional. The driver who picked us up at the hotel was very rude because he said we were supposed to be waiting for him at 7:30 sharp when we were given a pick up time between 7:30-800 am. A bimodal bus will take you from the station to the train station. There is no private guide in the bus station but one of the staff will assist you with your tickets and tell you which bus to get on. The bus is not private (20-24 people) were on that bus. After a 2 hour ride, you will get to the train station. No personal guide to assist you. Make sure u listen for your embarquement time from the announcer. The train ride takes about 1h40. A guide will be there to direct you to the line to take the bus to Machupichu. When u get to Machupichu, a private guide will take you to the tour. The tour was ok. We were booked for circuit one ( we had a view but could not go inside the structure itself). Not the best and the company seemed to just book what is available. The guide was good in helping us take picture but I could have done this circuit myself without anyone. I don’t think it is worth spending all that money for this. May be just hiring a tour guide for Machu Picchu only may be helpful other wise you r just paying extra for public transportation.
