Ollantaytambo - Begin your adventure with an early morning pick-up from your hotel in Cusco around 4:00 a.m. (or 5:30 a.m. if you’re staying closer to Ollantaytambo). Enjoy a picturesque 1.5-hour drive through the Sacred Valley to reach the Ollantaytambo train station, where your journey begins. For added convenience, consider staying in Ollantaytambo the night before to be nearby.

Chachabamba - Board the Expedition train for a scenic ride along the Urubamba River, surrounded by lush mountains and valleys. After approximately 1.5 hours, arrive at Km 104, where the adventure truly starts. Check in at the trailhead with your passport, then savor a delightful picnic breakfast prepared by skilled chefs. Post-breakfast, visit the first Inca site, Chachabamba, before embarking on the hike to Machu Picchu.

Winay Wayna - The trek begins with a gradual 4-hour uphill hike along ancient Inca trails. The journey leads to Wiñay Wayna, one of the most breathtaking Inca sites, meaning “forever young.” This hidden treasure offers stunning views of the Andes and a rich history. After exploring, enjoy a fresh lunch prepared by expert trekking chefs, surrounded by awe-inspiring scenery, before continuing the hike.

Intipunku - Post-lunch, hike towards the renowned Sun Gate, or Intipunku, where you’ll experience your first enchanting view of Machu Picchu. This is one of the most memorable moments, especially in the afternoon when the site is less crowded. The view from the Sun Gate provides a spectacular panorama of the Machu Picchu citadel, perfect for capturing those once-in-a-lifetime photos.

Machu Picchu - From the Sun Gate, descend for about an hour to reach the scenic viewpoints of Machu Picchu. By this time, the crowds will have diminished, allowing you to enjoy the serene atmosphere and capture stunning photos in the gentle afternoon light.

Aguas Calientes - After a magical afternoon at Machu Picchu, take the bus down to Aguas Calientes. Here, you can relax and unwind. Dinner will be served at one of the town’s top-rated restaurants, and you’ll spend the night in a comfortable 3-star hotel with private bathrooms, hot showers, WiFi, and beautiful views—ideal for resting after a full day of adventure.

Machu Picchu - The Lost City of the Incas

Aguas Calientes - Begin your day early with the thrill of visiting Machu Picchu – the renowned Lost City of the Incas. After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, head out to catch the first buses to Machu Picchu at 5:30 a.m., ensuring you arrive just as the day begins.

Machu Picchu - If the weather is clear, witness a breathtaking sunrise over Machu Picchu – a truly unforgettable experience. Your guide will lead a 2 to 3-hour tour, showcasing the most remarkable temples, palaces, and terraces while sharing captivating stories about the city’s history. After the tour, enjoy free time to explore independently or opt for an additional hike up Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Montaña (remember to book your tickets in advance!). When ready, take the bus back to Aguas Calientes for lunch before boarding the Panoramic train.

Ollantaytambo - The TreXperience team will be waiting for you at the Ollantaytambo train station and will ensure your safe return to your hotel.
