Highlights

Bimmah Sinkhole - Bimmah Sinkhole is a water-filled depression, structurally a sinkhole, in the limestone of eastern Muscat Governorate in the Sultanate of Oman. A lake of turquoise waters, it is 50 m by 70 m wide and approximately 20 m deep. It is only about 600 m away from the sea,[1] between the coastal towns of Ḑibāb and Bimmah. The sinkhole was formed by a collapse of the surface layer due to dissolution of the underlying limestone. However, locals believe that it was created by a meteorite, ‘Hawaiyat Najm’, which translates to ‘The Falling Star’ in Arabic, and hence the name.

Wadi Shab - Wadi Shaab, is a very popular wadi located inOman. It is a very popular outdoor attraction for both locals and expats, and people come here for the nature, to swim in the fresh water pools or just to have a barbecue. The main attraction of the wadi is the water fall in the cave, which you can reach after a roughly 40 mins hike and swimming in 2-3 pools. I really love coming to this wadi as it is not very far from Muscat, is easily accessible even with a saloon car and because the pools are always full with clear blue water!

Wahiba Sands - The Dunes of Wahiba Sands can reach 100 meter high.

Camel riding/Wadi Bani Khalid

Wahiba Sands - It’s a camel ride tour, where you can have 15 minutes camel ride. Take photographs with the camel and see the camels, which are famous in Middle East

Great trip - Had a great tour. Felt very lucky to have guide Aziz who came fully prepared for everything the day had to offer. Tent, pillow and sleeping bag was all provided for along with plenty of water. Really enjoyed the local knowledge and the secret pool at the end of the Tiwi was certainly a highlight.

A Night In the Desert - The Wadi and the sunset in the desert were wonderful experiences. Due to the heat that day the overnight was changed from wild camp-Site to the tents of 1000 Nights Desert Camp that provide cooling AC. That was a very, very reasonable decision. Like that, everything was perfectly organized. So thumbs up :-)

Very good experience - As two german girls (20 and 21yo) we’ve been a bit lost in the huge area of Mascat. Very spontaneously we booked the desert tour and exactly 24h later we were picked up at our hotel by our guide Yousuf. The trip was totally worth it! We had a wonderful time and with Yousuf a guide with whom we really connected. He answered all of our questions about the Arabic culture and also showed big interest in our life in Germany and our studies. The desert for sure is a must-see in Oman. It is very peaceful and when you watch the sunset on the dunes you don’t want to leave. We slept under the stars and in the morning got to feed some baby goats and camels, also we did camel riding. On the way back to our hotel we went to Wadi Shab. In the Internet it is said that you need to see this famous water cave and now we know why! Afterwards he also showed us around in Mascat and Matrah and got us traditional arabic food. He was very helpful for us, also the days after the desert tour. Also we could decide by ourselves which things we’d like to see on the way to the desert and back. We are sad to leave, not only because of the beautiful nature of Oman but also because we really found a funny friend in Yousuf. For everyone who is still thinking about booking this tour: We are two students with not much income but this time was worth every penny! We hope you have a great time.
