Impressed - We loved our weekend on the Timber Trail. The whole experience was absolutely 100% -the experienced, polite and welcoming staff of the bike hire, shuttles and lodge were all fantastic. The lodge itself was SO clean, the food amazing and the ambience just perfect. The ride itself breathtaking. Will definitely recommend.

Wonderful trip and stay - Fabulous forest the whole way through, birdsong along the way, super e-bikes, they worked like a dream for the 85km. The Timber Trail lodge way very welcoming, lovely rooms, hot showers, delicious food, great to chat to fellow bikers! Thank you

First class 2-day Timber Trail experience. - We arrived at the shuttle depot in Ongarue where we left our vehicle and bikes in a secure facility. Pierre drove us to the Lodge at Piropiro (1/2hr) giving us a brief history of the area as well as advising what the arrangements were for getting to the start of the 2-day trail ride the next morning. We were welcomed by Michael at the Lodge who allocated our well-appointed clean rooms and advised the bar was open and complementary tea & coffee was also available in the lounge at any time. Dinner would be served at 7pm. We were allocated tables of 4 - 10 with other guests and served a very sizeable and tasty meal. After a comfortable night's rest, we were served continental & cooked breakfast (included) and given our lunch packs before being picked up by Peter from the shuttle company, who shared an amazing knowledge of the area, and took us to the start of day 1 at Pureora. Our bikes were waiting for us, and we began our amazing trail ride back to the Timber Trail Lodge that's also the 1/2way point of the 82km ride. Hot showers were had before some relaxing time and discussing our days riding experience. Another tasty dinner was served before our second nights rest at the lodge. Next morning, after breakfast & collecting our lunch, we could leave as early as we liked to ride the amazing 2nd leg of the trail. On arrival at Ongarue we again were met by Pierre to be driven, with our bikes, to the secure car park where we had started this adventure. All staff were really friendly and helpful, and facilities were very comfortable and well organised.

Magnificent! - Fantastic trip. Shuttle drivers, accom, lodge staff, food, trail, all brilliant. Staff really friendly and explained everything so well. Highly recommend this trip. Totally satisfied.

Out the gate awesome - The TTS Team were fantastic On the drive to the start of the trail Peter the driver was brilliant and gave us a fascinating in depth talk on the history of the region The Trail ride was “out the gate awesome” and truly one of NZ’s premier rides with amazing flora Enjoy

Easy access to the lodge and back to start of trail. - We had a great time with the shuttle. They called to check on us when we were a little late and had everything organised so it went smoothly. Overall a fantastic trip.

Great trip !! - Thanks for the great trip, on the Timber Trail. The entire trip flowed perfectly. Your start point was easy to find, the shuttle was good (and informative). The track itself provides a wonderful exposure to native NZ bush, and the view from a side walking track was all the way from Taranaki, past Ruapehu and to Lake Taupo - a knock out !! We loved the lodge. we could easily hose down the bikes and lube them up for the next day, then unpack in the comfortable rooms; following a well-earned shower, pizzas and a few coldies before a delicious dinner. Day 2 is another great ride, with the bridges and cave to explore, along with more NZ bush. All up a really worthwhile trip and very well run.

Great ride in Challenging Conditions - An amazing ride under challenging conditions. Very wet but the track still held up well - would recommend e-bikes. We had a number of mechanical issues - however these were our own personal bikes and Timber Trail Transport were very accommodating helping us out and providing transportation to the lodge for a rider who was unable to complete, also hiring us a bike for the second day of our ride. I would thoroughly recommend the ride and Timber Trail Transport and Lodge. Expect the unexpected and make sure you are prepared with spare tubes.
