Worth every penny - Fantastic tour of the city took in all the sites, wish we had done this earlier in our stay to give us an idea of where everything was

Great way to start visit to Rome - Easy on and off. Great way to orient to the city. Also used Lime e-scooters to zip around between stops. Saw a ton in a short time

Convenient - This is so convenient to get around the city and to get some history as you’re driving around. We went the full loop the first time as we had just arrived to the city and then used it to get to places we wanted to see after. It came in very handy when our feet were tired and the walk back seemed too long. Often, the stops are a 10 minute walk from where your headed but still very worth it!!

Great way to see the city - We did research before booking as there are many different providers, I would advise looking at TripAdvisor reviews as this helped us decide who to go with and definitely worth booking before you go. There were 8 stops on this tour, the bus stops were easy to find and the buses were very regular. The audio on board (you are given free headphones) was very good & really interesting as you passed the places of interest. Be aware at the stops there are multiple street sellers trying to get you to buy all kinds including cold bottles of water that are half the price at the shops nearby. Good activity worth doing.

Good choice for Hop On Hop Off - Buses are comfortable and unmistakable. Between Termini and Santa Maria Maggiore we made different routes at different times. Friendly staff. The four stars are because some headphone jacks only work in mono (on one side) and some buses have the top part partly covered with fiber and this part is not ventilated which makes those in the front queue make the River Tiber look dry... I've read a lot of criticism about the fact that the buses are going to be crowded and, to some extent, it's even true, especially next to stop 6, which leads to the Vatican, but Rome is a city full of tourists...

So confusing ! - The bus stops are very confusing… the one at the Vatican is not at Via Leoni IV, 33. We took a taxi to that point and when I asked about the stop, the supporting officer said: “Go along the wall, and walk for 10 min to the bus stop”. We followed instructions, but the bus was way further then 10 min walk. Have I known, I would have gone with the taxi. The other stops are soo far from the attractions, leaving us with no guidance about which way to go. The given map just doesn’t show the distances, from the stop to the main tourist destinations.

Great way to see some of the sights and learn new things but a lot of waiting and queuing and a complicated system - 👍The commentary was great and so interesting! and the free headphones are great 👍 It stayed nice and cool on the bus even though it was really hot outside. 👍You get great views of the city and get to see lots of interesting places you probably wouldn’t think to visit 👍 reasonable price 👎The paper tickets were a bit of faff and quite a confusing system. 👎The buses get very busy and don’t come very often so you sometimes have to wait up to 30 mins and long queues Tips: • Personally I would recommend taking the metro instead it’s much cheaper and quicker • The €15 ticket doesn’t cover the hop on hop off tour it only includes one trip around the city. So if you get off the bus, you need to buy an additional add-on, but this is only three euros extra and then you can get on and off 3 times. •we noticed many of the other bus tours had more regular buses- such as ‘big bus’ and ‘city sightseeing’ however I’m not sure how they compared in price

Didn't work for us in Rome. - It spends more time waiting at each if the stops than it does moving. Waste of money and time. I think Rome is too small for this to be of value.

Hard to find stop to get on - We wanted to start at stop 5. There is no actual map online to find the stop which is never real close to the actual site. In front of site was kind of island with many wrong buses. Only to find after walking all around the congested area that it was about a quarter mile down the street. FYI all of the hop on hop off use the same stop locations…. I even chatted fir map and was just sent a list which I already had.

Waste of money and time - No ability to know where to board. Nothing offered by Viator. Spent ages walking back and forth trying to know where to go. Waited for ages for totally packed bus. Never saw anything from the bus. Useless. Choose something else.
