Sidi El Houari

Le Theatre d’Oran - Built in 1908 by architect Inez, this opera house showcases the elegance of Italian Renaissance architecture. It is now known as the Regional Theater of Oran Abdelkader Alloula, in honor of the renowned Oran playwright.

Pacha Mosque - Designated as a historical monument on June 8, 1952, this mosque is a remnant of the Ottoman presence in the region. Constructed between 1792 and 1796 by Bey Mohamed El Kebir, it features a domed structure on a square plan and an intricately decorated octagonal minaret, characteristic of Maghrebi architecture.

Bey’s Palace - Located at La Promenade de l’Étang, this site boasts a variety of rare tree species in its garden and offers a panoramic view of Oran’s port and city. It’s a lovely spot to rest before continuing our tour.

Fort Santa Cruz - Perched on the Aidour massif, Fort Santa Cruz is an iconic site in Oran. Initially destroyed by the locals, it was rebuilt in the 16th century by Governor D’Alvares de Bazan y Sylva, Marquis of Santa Cruz. The fort was completely reconstructed and finished in 1738 under Jose Vallejo following the assault by Bey Bouchlaghem.

Oran Arena - Typically, our Oran tour concludes at Santa Cruz, but if you have the energy, we can visit “Oran Arena” and “Résidence Yves Saint Laurent Oran.” At the arena, you’ll admire the beautiful architecture of one of the oldest arenas built by the Spanish in Oran, with a local guide providing historical insights.

Oran Sea Front - To end today’s tour, we’ll take a short walk along the sea front. You can choose to have a traditional dinner or return to the hotel to dine. We’ll meet again in the morning to take you to the airport for your flight.

Tlemcen

Les Grottes de Beni Add - In the morning, we’ll drive from Oran to Tlemcen, choosing the route based on weather and time. Our first stop will be The Caves of Beni Add, located about 17 km from Tlemcen in the heights of Ain Fezza. This natural museum extends over 700 meters and reaches a depth of 57 meters. Its volcanic walls hide numerous secrets, with limestone formations creating varied and beautiful stalactites and stalagmites.

El Mansourah - After lunch, we’ll visit the minaret of El Mansourah. Located in Tlemcen, the ruins of Mansourah are remnants of an ancient city known in the 13th-14th centuries as El Mahala El Mansourah, meaning “the Victorious Camp.” The Sultan of Fez established a military camp here, which evolved into a city with a mosque, palace, hospital, and defensive wall. Today, only ruins remain, but they are famous.

Citadelle et Palais El Mechouar - We’ll conclude our trip by visiting the El Mechouar castle in the heart of Tlemcen. This royal Zianid palace complex, built in the Middle Ages by the Zianid sultans in 1248, exemplifies Moorish and Andalusian art, particularly the Zianid style.
