Arrival at Ormond-By-The-Sea

As I pulled up to Tom Renick Park, the salty breeze of Ormond-By-The-Sea greeted me like an old friend. The sun was beginning its descent, painting the sky with hues of orange and pink. I could already feel the anticipation bubbling inside me for the Beach Campfire experience. The idea of a hassle-free evening by the shore, with a fully lit firepit and cozy Adirondack chairs, was just what I needed to unwind from the usual surf competitions and island-hopping adventures.

The park offered free on-site parking, which was a pleasant surprise. As I made my way to the beach, I noticed the attendant already setting up the firepit. The sight of the flames dancing against the backdrop of the ocean was mesmerizing. It was a perfect blend of nature’s raw beauty and human comfort.

The Campfire Experience

Settling into one of the Adirondack chairs, I felt the warmth of the fire envelop me. The crackling sound of the wood burning was music to my ears, a symphony of relaxation. The attendant was attentive, ensuring the fire was well-managed, allowing me to focus solely on the experience.

I opted for some of the optional add-ons, indulging in gourmet hot dogs and s’mores. The combination of the sweet, gooey marshmallows with the salty sea air was a delight to the senses. As the night grew darker, the glow-in-the-dark bocce set added a playful touch to the evening. It was a reminder that even in the most serene settings, a bit of fun and games can enhance the experience.

Reflections by the Shore

As the evening wore on, I found myself lost in thought, staring at the endless expanse of the ocean. The rhythmic sound of the waves crashing against the shore was a familiar lullaby, one that I’ve cherished throughout my life as a surfer.
