- Pozzo della Cava - A captivating subterranean exploration in Orvieto’s medieval quarter, featuring chambers that reveal Etruscan, Medieval, and Renaissance relics, all uncovered by the dedicated efforts of the owning family. The well itself is an immense cavity in the volcanic rock, carved out by Pope Clement VII from 1527 to 1530, enlarging an existing Etruscan well; it was sealed off from the public in 1646 and lay forgotten for centuries. Within the nine surrounding grottos, visitors can also discover a medieval ceramics studio replete with majolica pieces and the tools of potters, several small medieval refuse pits, an Etruscan reservoir, a medieval storeroom for wine, and the vestiges of Etruscan funerary chambers.

Instructive experience on the Etruscan, medieval and Renaissance underground areas. - It was a surprise. We ended up with a complete and informative experience. Although the guided tour had to be booked in advance, along the entire underground route there were captions in various languages.
We were practically the only ones, and it was cool. At the end of the path there was also a bar and a bathroom.

the wonders in the heart of tuff - Orvieto, a village full of precious historic buildings, contains a hidden treasure in its deep heart: the Pozzo della Cava, which at Christmas is enriched with an emotional journey into the meanders of history and spirituality; and it does so with a Nativity scene masterfully designed and created by the owner, which comes to life in the depths of the tufaceous cliff. Handsome - Low price for one of the things to absolutely see in Orvieto, in fact I recommend visiting this and not Orvieto underground (high price and nothing much to see).

Mind blowing history here! - This site astounded us with the ingenuity and sophisticated ways these ancient people created to form a society such along time ago!! Absolutely the most interesting thing we discovered on our trip!! A must see if you are in Orvieto.

A stop that should not be missed if you go to Orvieto - Visit in complete autonomy, the place is very nice. The interior is truly evocative and in my opinion deserves to be seen.

Short but pleasant - The route is short but interesting, it takes 20-30 minutes to complete, interesting and clear thanks to the exhibition panels in each room.
Cost 4 euros for adults, 2.50 euros for concessions. The ticket entitles you to a discount on the St. Patrick's Well ticket (from 5 euros to 3.50).
Possibility of purchasing souvenirs upon exit.

The hidden charm of Orvieto - Suggestive place not to be missed. The visit is free and well organised, the captions allow you to understand the stratification of the finds and their different uses over the centuries.

Self-Guided Tour in a Cool Spot - This is a self-guided tour of the cave. It was nice a cool on a hot summer day! I learned a lot about the Etruscans and early Rome settlers, as well as information about pottery. There is a nice older man at the end of the tour that sells the pottery he makes. I was happy to buy an adorable holy family figurine set.

They might as well not have gone there, unlike the beautiful Orvieto. - Money down the drain...
The caves didn't excite us, they can be seen in a few minutes, really nothing special.
Rude checkout staff.
Inconvenient and dangerous entrance with fast cars passing within centimeters.
I don't feel like recommending the visit.
