Fascinating night walk- highly recommended. - Our night tour with Tracie and Gianfranco was absolutely fantastic. I can’t recommend it highly enough. We were all captivated by the information shared by our hugely knowledgeable guides. We saw a great variety of animals (both insects and mammals) in a short space of time and learned such a lot of fascinating facts about them. It was a privilege to spend time with Tracie and Giancarlo who are so passionate about what they do and eager to share what they know.

Exciting, confidence filing - I was so nervous starting the tour, but by the end I felt so much better. It was so nice to see people so passionate about bugs and creatures, they have so much knowledge! We saw so many amazing things and I felt so safe, even when we saw the Fer de lance Pit viper! Tracy and Jean were so friendly and warm, and made a huge effort to learn all our names. Please do this night tour, it is amazing!

Worth coming to Drake Bay just for this tour - We had the most amazing tour with Tracie and her husband. I have never met anyone so knowledgeable and enthusiastic about bugs, snakes, frogs and anything nocturnal. I'm terrified of bugs and came away calmer and fascinated by the these extraordinary creatures. A truly amazing experience. We had done other "night walks" elsewhere in Costa Rica and I can honestly say you've not done a night tour unless you've don't this one! Both my daughters and husband also loved it

Fantastic night tour! Don’t miss this while in Drake Bay. - A+ 💯 experience! Communication prior was excellent. Their passionate knowledge was paired with incredible night critter observations. I’ve been on a few night tours in Costa Rica and this was far superior. They knew the landscape and every creature’s hide. Not just guides, they are highly educated to scientific details. Their tour does focus on spiders, insects, etc., but we also saw some mammals. To top off the experience, they can send a detailed email with your tour’s finds. Great adventure value for the price.

An outstanding experience - We are avid naturalists and photographers, and having travelled widely I can honestly say that Tracie and Gianfranco's night tour was one of the best wildlife experiences we have ever had. What made it unique, other than all the marvellous creatures they found, was their professionalism and in-depth knowledge. Tracie is an entomologist who has been living and working in the area for 26 years. Not all scientists are natural communicators, but Tracie and Gian make their tour fascinating for both enthusiasts and those who, until then, had only a passing interest (or horror) of insects. And to make it even better, they showed us a tamandua, a three-toed sloth and a kinkajou. Beat that!

The coolest tour we took in Costa Rica - Tracie and Gianfranco are an amazing pair, both just brimming with academic knowledge of specific local critters, stories connecting them to the broader world, and a sense of wonder and joy that make this tour the best we took in Costa Rica. I very much appreciated their focus on insects and arachnids, because those are my favorite critters, but they found frogs and snakes as well. The two of them are a great tag team, one talking you through the creature you’re looking at while the other ranges ahead in search of the next. Not to be missed if you’re in the area!

excellent, insightful look at the biodiversity of the fauna of Costa Rica - Thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Tracie and Gianfranco were well equipped and extremely knowledgeable, so they were able to point out fascinating animals ranging from a venomous spider to the infamous cane toad to bioluminescent fungi and a fluorescent scorpion at regular intervals along our walk. They clearly know the fauna of Costa Rica very well and found ways to engage everyone in our group, including our two kids, 15 and 10. After the tour, they sent a personalized website listing the species we encountered and offering photos and recommended reading. Overall this was a great finale to our stay in Drake Bay.
