- Cafe-Bar Moi-Rai - Learn about the brief history and parts of a Kakejiku (hanging scroll) with us! We’ll brush up on some interesting facts about a Kakejiku while having a one of a kind experience of unwinding and seeing high quality kakejikus up close. The class will run for two hours, talking about the history, parts, differences from Western art, some fun facts about Kakejiku, learning how to unwind and tie it up, getting a deeper understanding of the art. A complementary tea time is also included, having some free time to talk and ask questions about the class.
At the end of the class, there will also be some good quality kakejikus available for purchase, perfect as a souvenir or a gift to yourself! Also, we’ll have some museum recommendations if you’ll be interested in seeing more kakejikus during your trip packed with the knowledge from the class!

The workshop will be held in a traditional 100-year-old Japanese house with an eastern interior. During the workshop, the travelers will learn about the brief history of Kakejiku, the parts of a Kakejiku and the differences that can be seen with other Kakejikus. The workshop will be held in a traditional 100-year-old Japanese house with an eastern interior. During the workshop, the travelers will learn about the brief history of Kakejiku, the parts of a Kakejiku and the differences that can be seen with other Kakejikus. The Kakejikus to be shown in the workshop will be of good quality and the travelers will have the opportunity to see it up-close and touch it which is quite a rare experience even for Japanese. There will also be a short break where travelers can enjoy some matcha and Japanese snacks. After the workshop, they can look around at some Kakejikus available for purchase.
