An artist associated with Himeji Castle will guide you through its history and various tour spots. Audio guide machines are available for rent if needed.
• Koko-en - KOKO-EN, also known as Himeji-Castle-Nishi-Oyashiki-Ato-Garden, spans 3.5 hectares (8.5 acres) and was opened on April 29, 1992, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Himeji becoming a municipality. This new cultural site not only serves for historical and cultural preservation but also complements the UNESCO World Heritage Himeji Castle. Admission fee for Koko-en is 310 yen; please refer to the website for details.
• Himeji - Lunch time. Travelers can find restaurants around Himeji Castle.
• Shoshazan Engyo-ji Temple - Shoshazan Engyoji Temple is the 27th temple on the 33-sacred temple Kannon pilgrimage route in Saigoku (the Kinki Area and Gifu Prefecture). Mani-den, the main temple of Shoshazan Engyoji, is dedicated to Roppi Nyoirin Kanzeon Bosatsu, the principal image.
• Arima Onsen - Arima Onsen is one of Japan’s three oldest hot springs, located in Arima-cho, Kita Ward, Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture. It was also mentioned as one of the three famous springs in The Pillow Book. During the Muromachi period, Banri Shukyu listed it among the “Three Famous Hot Springs” along with Kusatsu Onsen and Gero Onsen. In the Edo period, Hayashi Razan also described these three hot springs as “Tenka’s Three Famous Hot Springs.”
• Mount Rokkō - Visit Rokkosan Observatory for a night view of Kobe. Rokko Garden Terrace is an attractive night view spot with an exotic atmosphere and four different viewpoints. Enjoy a variety of night views depending on the time and angle at each viewpoint.
