A must do in Osaka - We had such an amazing time at this class. The individual instruction was fantastic, and we made very practical, traditional Japanese food. I would highly recommend this cooking class for its authenticity and intimate nature.

Best evening in Osaka - Yayo’s cooking class was the highlight of our holiday and time spent in Osaka. The experience far exceeded our expectation - which was already very high! We learned to make 4 dishes in Yayo’s lovely home - all of which were delicious! Yayo was a great teacher and lovely company too, telling us about everything Japan and its food. There were many surprises throughout the evening which made it so special, and Yayo really made us feel at home. We were sad when the evening came to an end, and cannot recommend this highly enough to other people visiting Osaka. Thank you Yayo (and Akane 💜) for making our stay so special. Filippa & Paul

Cooking Class with Yayo is fun and delicious. - If you like to cook, or like to eat, this small group experience with Yayo in her home is for you. She is a good teacher and guides you through the preparation of 3 dishes. At the end, you get to sit down and eat your dishes as your dinner. It was all delicious, better than most of the street food I had tried. Yayo is a warm, funny and charming host and teacher. It’s a great and personalized experience while in Osaka.

Yaki time with Yayo! - We had a great time with Yayo! We made dashiyaki, Takoyaki, Okonomiyaki, and Taiyaki. We also got a quick lesson in the proper way of preparing green tea. So kind of her to bring us into her home and share this experience.

Perhaps the most memorable experience of our trip to Japan - It is clear that Yayo put a lot of thought and care into this cooking class. The experience was phenomenal, and Yayo was a gracious, knowledgeable, and fantastic host. The experience was filled with fun little surprises, and the plum sake made by Yayo's mother was superb. I highly recommend taking Yayo's cooking class.

Best Experience I had in All of Japan - I spent two amazing weeks in Japan and this class was definitely the highlight of my trip! Yayo is so generous and patient while teaching you her traditional cooking style (with ingredients hand made by her mom). She has a modern and friendly teaching style while imparting age old cooking techniques to tourist like my group of friends, it was the perfect combination of a fun experience and a glimpse into Japanese culture. By the end of the class we were stuffed and Yayo was even ready for that. She had take-home containers and packed up the desserts we had made to take back to the hotel. Best of all she had printed and packaged up the recipes she had taught us with some additional personalized souvenirs to take home. This is not an exaggeration, the very first thing I did when I got home to the USA was make the Dashimaki she taught us and it was delicious!

Yayo is the best! Actually Learned New Cooking Techniques and Left So Full it Hurt! - Our entire group agreed that taking Yayo’s cooking class was one of the top highlights of our time in Japan, which is saying something considering how many amazing things there are to do. Yayo is one of the nicest people you will ever meet and was really good at encouraging and helping people with cooking their food, and she even gave us her own umbrella to use on the walk over since it was raining. Needless to say the food was also all amazingly delicious and Yayo was very informative about explaining the ingredients and techniques being used to make it all. Our group’s personal favorite was the Okinomiyaki, but the taiyaki, takoyaki, miso soup, and dashimaki were all so so good! If you want to spend a quality couple of hours with a true Osaka native I would recommend this tour to anyone in a heartbeat.
