Highlights

You will be making 3 types of sushi in this sushi class.

  1. Salad Roll
A kind of sushi roll. Crab-flavored kamaboko, lettuce, cucumber, avocado, tuna mixed with mayonnaise, and nori roll with a core of tamagoyaki (egg roll).

  2. Nigiri
Nigiri-zushi is one of the representative dishes of Japan, in which ingredients are placed on top of vinegared rice. Sushi made by placing sushi ingredients such as fish, shellfish, and omelet on a bite-sized piece of vinegared rice.

  3. Oshizushi - Pressed Sushi
Oshizushi is a traditional form of sushi in the Kansai region. After filling a square wooden frame with sushi rice and toppings on top, press the rice with your hand to make the rice stick to the toppings. In Osaka, it is also called “box sushi” and is still popular with many people. The finished product will be a square, so cut it into pieces just before eating.

Excellent sushi class - Sakura cook ran an outstanding class. Everything was so well organized, beautifully prepared, and thoroughly explained. Our chef was patient with all the questions I had above the basics as I already had a little experience making sushi, and also with one of the participants who was having physical difficulties. The main chef and her assistant both communicated well in English.

Amazing experience highly recommend - We did the cooking class today as a couple from London. It was brilliant and worth 5*. The teachers were so thorough and clear with their instructions - their English is brilliant and they really help you with every step. It’s a max class of 4 so easy to follow and very intimate. You make 3 different types of sushi, egg rolls and miso soup. You get loads of food to eat at the end in the sushi class too and they cater and understand dietary requirements like vegetarian. Highly recommend what a great morning :-)

A must-do in Osaka! - Wonderful experience! We were able to learn to make so many things. Instructors were absolutely fantastic. Ingredients were delicious and sushi turned out so yummy. Only hiccup was Google Maps took us to the building directly across the street… took a few minutes to find “Master Residence Dotonburi I”. There is a placard on the correct building that says so. But I only write that just as a heads up in case someone else comes across that.

Sushi hand made....what an achievement! - My 12yo son and I both love sushi but it seems difficult to make. Ami and Jaimi were very patient, detailed and prepared with pre-cooked sushi rice and meats. We learned how to make EggRoll, which I thought would be so difficult but we mastered it. We took lots of photos of our fun day as my son really enjoyed it. It was unexceptionable class and lunch because it was made with love and passion. We can't wait to share these skills with our family ❤️

An experience to still water my mouth - My mouth is still watering when I recall the delicious sushi and miso and ramen we cooked under the careful watch and instructions of the Cooking Sun team. The place where classes are held is super nice, lit, clean and the team of skilled ladies that I had the pleasure to be trained by was extremely nice, had good knowledge of their cooking, could answer a lot of questions and gave us tons of good tips. I'll probably go to new classes with them next time I'm in Osaka
