This evening, embark on an izakaya and bar hopping adventure through the bustling local areas of Dotombori (Namba), including lively backstreets and hidden local alleys and spots! Visit 3 or 4 cozy local izakayas and bars to savor the unique food and drinks, just like the locals. You might even discover something new about Japanese cuisine!

Amazing “locals only” experience - This was an amazing tour! You get to see multiple bars that tourists normally do not get to see, enjoy drinks with locals, and learn so much about Japanese culture & drinking culture from the amazing guide. We also enjoyed some really good bar food, including the famous bar fried chicken, and had a great time snacking around Namba!
This is not a “cookie cutter” experience, he truly customizes the tour to your liking in a very small group setting (2-3 people). For example, my wife has food allergies & he made a big effort to help us discuss this with the bartender/cook.
At the last bar we went to, the entire bar became our friends! It really made our night.

Best part of Osaka, authentic izakayas with an ACTUAL Japanese guide - I’ve been on many food tours before and Testu-san’s was the best by far!
1. The places we went were AUTHENTIC izakayas where no one spoke English. You would not find these or be allowed a seat unless you were Japanese.
2. Food not included in the ticket price is a HUGE plus. Tetsu-san charges a very cheap fee, you get to ORDER THE FOOD YOU WANT, and you never feel like you’re getting the short end of the stick (like you do at these “all inclusive” tours). The best part is, your all-in cost is actually cheaper than the all inclusive tours because the food in Japan is cheap (each dish was ~500 yen, or $3-4).
3. Tetsu-san is a born and raised Japanese person. Not some American or European transplant, which is what most other guides are. Refreshing because I am also Japanese and was tired of getting non-Japanese guides.
I can’t emphasize how much we enjoyed this tour. It was the best part of Osaka, and I wish there was a Tetsu-san in every city.
Don’t be scared by the lack of reviews - Testu-san just started his business a few months ago. This is a hidden gem that I’m recommending to everyone. The cherry on top is that Tetsu-san is the sole owner of this business, so all the profits go to him, not some random corporation (which is how it is for those widely advertised tours with hundreds of reviews).

We had the best time on... - We had the best time on this tour with Tetsu! He showed us the local bars and drinks we would never have come across! He also filled us in on some Osaka history which was also very interesting.
I really recommend doing this tour at the beginning of your stay in Osaka!!!

personalized the experience to suit my preferences - I had an incredible time on the Local Izakaya and Bar Hopping Tour in Namba, and Tetsu was absolutely amazing! From the start, Tetsu was not only kind and professional, but he also personalized the experience to suit my preferences. I specifically requested to avoid the typical tourist spots, and Tetsu took me to some truly authentic, local spots that I would never have found on my own.
The tour was a great mix of delicious food and great drinks at traditional Japanese restaurants and bars. What really stood out was Tetsu's ability to bridge the language gap and introduce me to local restaurant and bar owners. It was an amazing opportunity to learn about Osaka’s vibrant nightlife culture and see firsthand how respect and hospitality are woven into everyday interactions.
If you’re looking for a unique, off-the-beaten-path experience away from the crowds of typical tourist areas, I highly recommend this tour. Just a heads-up—if a place is overcrowded, Tetsu will quickly adapt and take you to another spot, ensuring the experience remains enjoyable. Probably not recommended if you have more than two people. Best at solo.
