Kuromon Market - Originally known as Emmeiji Market until the end of the Meiji Era, Kuromon Ichiba Market got its name from a black gate that once stood northeast of the nearby Emmeiji temple. The market stretches nearly 600 meters and features 170 shops, most of which offer the freshest and highest quality meat, vegetables, eggs, and other ingredients from both domestic and international sources. While over half of the sales cater to the business market, Kuromon Ichiba also serves the general public. For over 170 years, it has attracted everyone from restaurant chefs to homemakers with its delicious, fresh, and diverse products.
