Explore the western part of Armenia. Visit Oshakan Church, renowned as the burial site of Saint Mesrop Mashtots, the creator of the Armenian alphabet. In recent years, the church’s entrance has been adorned with 36 khachkars (cross-stones), each representing one of the 36 original letters of the Armenian alphabet created by Saint Mesrop.

Karmravor Church is one of the most enchanting churches in Armenia. Its name, meaning “reddish,” comes from its red hue. The structure is built from brown tuff stone.

Hovhannavank is an Armenian Apostolic Church perched atop a steep gorge carved by the Kasakh River.

Saghmosavank Monastery is also located on the edge of the Kasakh River gorge. The elegance of its interior is accentuated by its color scheme, with different sections made from red and black stones and painted in white, yellow, and red.
