Highlights
  • Oshino Hakkai - Oshino Hakkai (忍野八海) is a popular tourist destination featuring eight ponds in Oshino, a small village in the Fuji Five Lake region. It is situated between Lake Kawaguchiko and Lake Yamanakako, on the site of a former sixth lake that dried up several hundred years ago. The ponds are fed by snowmelt from Mount Fuji, which filters through porous lava layers for over 80 years, resulting in exceptionally clear spring water that is highly valued by locals.
  • Arakura Fuji Sengen Shrine - Arakura Fuji Sengen Shrine, also known as Chureito Pagoda (忠霊塔, Chūreitō), is a five-story pagoda located on a mountainside overlooking Fujiyoshida City with Mount Fuji in the distance. The pagoda is part of the Arakura Sengen Shrine and was built in 1963 as a peace memorial, accessible by nearly 400 steps from the shrine’s main buildings. The location offers stunning views of Mount Fuji alongside the pagoda and is particularly popular among photographers for capturing iconic images of Japan.
  • Kawaguchiko Station Bldg. - Known as the most beautiful Lawson Store in the world, it offers an astonishing view of Mt. Fuji with Kawaguchiko Station in the background.
  • Lake Kawaguchiko - The most visited of the Fuji Five Lakes, Lake Kawaguchiko is the main gateway to this renowned lake region. It is the second largest in surface area and the second shallowest, with a depth of only 14.6 meters. Its surface elevation of approximately 830 meters results in cool summers and icy winters. The lake attracts many visitors, especially during the cherry blossom season in spring and the vibrant fall foliage in autumn.
  • Mt. Fuji Panoramic Ropeway - Ropeway charges are not included in the package. This cable car ascends 220 meters to an observation point, offering fantastic views of the lake as you go up. The Mount Fuji Panoramic Ropeway climbs 400 meters from the eastern shore of Lake Kawaguchiko to an observation deck near the peak of Mount Tenjo. From the deck, which is over 1000 meters above sea level, you can enjoy panoramic views of the lake and Mount Fuji.
  • Oishi Park - Located on the north shore of Kawaguchiko, Oishi Park offers a superb view of both the lake and Mount Fuji. Various flowers bloom along the lakeside promenade according to the season. On sunny days, many photographers come early in the morning to capture images of Mount Fuji, the lake, and the flowers. On the west side of Oishi Park, the “Flowers Road” features colorful blooms throughout the season. At the end of the Flowers Road, Kochia (summer cypress) covers the area from summer to autumn, making it a popular photo spot.
  • Fuji Honchodori - Also known as “Honcho Street,” this road runs through the center of Fujiyoshida and connects the city to Mount Fuji.
  • Gotemba Premium Outlets - This destination is optional for those who want to shop and can skip a few other places. This outdoor shopping center offers views of Mount Fuji and features over 200 shops. Visitors can also enjoy a variety of restaurants and food stores, making it a perfect spot for shopping and dining.
  • Yamanakako Lake Side Bowl - Lake Yamanakako is the largest of the Fuji Five Lakes and has the third-highest elevation of any lake in Japan. It is the closest of the five to Mount Fuji and offers spectacular views of the iconic peak.
  • Saiko Lake - Lake Saiko (西湖) is smaller and less developed than neighboring Lake Kawaguchiko. The views of Mount Fuji from Lake Saiko’s shores are obstructed by other mountains.
  • Saiko Iyashi no Sato Nemba - Also known as “Healing Village,” this community consists of 22 traditional thatched-roof houses that depict the old-time scenery of the Showa Period.

Highly recommend this fully customizable tour for a group or family! - We had a wonderful time at our Mt Fuji tour! Can’t say enough good things about this tour. Even pre trip Sanela was extremely responsive and flexible, as I changed my vehicle to a bigger one, added Hakone to our tour (and removed it later on) etc. Our driver John was extremely helpful and kind, he even helped my 74 year old dad walk up 700 steps in one of the shrines! We had hotel pickup at 3 pickup points in Tokyo which was extremely convenient. The vehicle was clean, spacious, in great condition and perfect for our group of 8 people. We were lucky to have amazing weather on day of our tour!

Wonderful experience with our tour guide. - Wonderful experience with our tour guide/driver. He was very flexible with our schedule as we have to make some last minute changes. He ensures that everyone is comfortable. Unfortunately, the cloudy weather hide Mt. Fuji.

Amazing Mount Fuji Day Trip! - John was our guide and driver, and he was fantastic. He was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the area. We were lucky to have a beautiful summer day for our tour. We visited all the places I had planned, but instead of the Ropeway and slow boat cruise, John recommended the 20-minute speedboat ride, which turned out to be an incredible experience. My two teenage daughters said it was the highlight of the trip. John also took us to an excellent Japanese restaurant for lunch. With some extra time on our hands, he brought us to two unexpected lovely places: the Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine and Lake Yamanaka to feed the swans. He also took us to a local fruit and vegetable store where we bought fresh, local fruits at great prices. Overall, it was a wonderful experience touring with John, and I highly recommend it. I would definitely take a day tour with John again! Arigato Gozaimasu John!

Great Experience! - When I booked this tour through TripAdvisor before visiting Japan, I was a little bit nervous because it was the first time I booked a tour through TripAdvisor. However, the communication from its local operator "Glocal Japan" was great. I got the email before we left to Japan and received WhatsApp messages on the day before the tour date. The driver Caffrey showed up on time at the hotel on the tour date. Caffrey was a pleasure to chat with and he is polite, thoughtful and knowledgeable about the Mount Fuji area. On the day when we visited Mount Fuji, it was a cloudy day. The summit of the mountain was covered by the clouds. Caffrey customized the visiting options for us and helped us to have the best experience we could have for the weather. Our family had a great time and enjoyed the private tour very much. We are so grateful to have Caffrey as our tour guide and wholeheartedly recommend him.
