Great food and secret gems discovered with Oslonature walk-and-talk-and taste tour with a Guide passionate about Oslo - I had a fantastic personal tour of Oslo food and secret gems with Kaja my guide. I tasted the best fish soup, a platter of seafood and sourdough bread, raspberry jam and a warm waffle, great espresso coffee ( important for NZ coffee fanatic). Kaja also made other recommendations for eating out. We walked up cobble streets, up hills to amazing view points, past my favourite things: art installations, galleries, wooden houses and people going about living in Oslo. I cannot recommend this company and Kaja as a guide highly enough. I saw gems and ate delicious food and loved the conversation: the walk and talk adventure along by the way.

Great Intro to Oslo and Food Tour! - A great walk through a part of Oslo we never would have seen without this tour. The pace of the walk was easy, with some hills that helped us to digest each of the meals. During the walk it was great to get to hear information about Oslo and the area as well as ask questions and get key information from Margarita our guide. Our favorite stop was the fish soup! But the waffle at the end tied it up nicely. We left with or stomachs full, legs tired, and felt like we spent the afternoon with a local friend.

All there were three... - All there were three stops along our journey with the seafood soup (1st stop) was one of the best fish soups I have ever tasted. The second were three distinct dishes which were artworks in themselves. We also had three different types of salamis ( including whale ) before. The last stop was basically a dessert (waffles and different type of cheese topping There was only two of use on the tour (wife and I) given that it is winter. Margarita, our tour was a wealth of knowledge of the local food scene. She has a charming an approachable person. Although the tour involved a degree of walking, it was well worth it

Texas visits Norway - Being from Texas where we don't get much of a winter, I enjoyed sitting outside in the cooler weather eating reindeer stew and fish soup by an open fire as well as walking around the neighborhoods of Oslo. I had no idea how beautiful Oslo is. The guide was also very knowledgeable about the city as well as the countryside of Norway. Her dog was adorable.

First time in Oslo - This tour is first of all depicted as a food tour which I would say that it isn’t. We were supposed to have some food in the beginning of the tour, but because of renovations we didn’t. We hiked to the hidden gems which were great for at least an hour and half before we had any food. Then at the last food stop we were directed from inside the direction we were to take to get back to our hotel which was at least 20-30 minutes from where we started . Our guide then left with her dog before making sure that we knew where we needed go to get back to where we started. We had never been to Oslo before and being January the number of daylight hours are limited. Not the best way to make sure your clients are safe in an unfamiliar city.

Margarita was an... - Margarita was an excellent guide. The walking conditions were not great considering the snow and especially the ice, but our host was super. The food stops were wonderful and Margarita gave interesting information about the areas in Oslo we visited.

Learned very little on this tour. - This is tough to review as we had a decent time, but it is not what one would expect on a food and hidden gems tour. We visited 3 places, no beverages were included besides tap water and learned nothing of this great city. Even many of our questions (i.e. the significance of the tiger statue at the train station) could not be answered and no talk about the history of Norway/Oslo, the waterfront development, why they consistently rank as one of the happiest countries... There was also little discussion about the types of food we were eating.
