Take this tour! - Had a very good tour - interesting, well planned, entertaining and well worth the price. There were 3-4 stops with different food tastings - great food and new knowledge about this fascinating city. The host took interest in all of us. Our party of 2 people plus the host worked out just right. Had a great time - it was a perfect way to experience Oslo.

Tanya's Fantastic Food Tour - Great combo history/food tour. We covered a lot of ground and saw a lot..l Very informative. The food stops were fantastic. Tanya took us to a salmon fishery company, raising salmon in the fjords attached restaurant, where we got a history lesson on how salmon is raised. We got to sample fiskekaker “fish cakes” and three different prepared salmon 🍣 bites: delicious. We then went to our favorite place, which was a commercial fish market with a tiny attached store, where they sell their products. We got to sample six different meats and fish including whale 🐳. (Whale not my favorite). We also hit an adorable cafe where we had Mosbromlefse, which is a caramelized goat cheese inside of a paper-thin crêpe-like thing that had sour cream on top. It was sweet and delicious. We ended with a coffee and tea at another cafe, after which Tanya dropped us back at our hotel. Four hours total. It might seem like small amounts of food, but we were completely satisfied.

Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. It was just like walking in Oslo learning some history and eating delicious food with a friend. My two teenagers enjoyed this tour very much.

Experiencing places native Norwegians frequent - Being of Norwegian heritage I was excited to find a tour that focused on the foods of Norway. Little did I know that Tonya our guide was take us to such fun, out of the way places. The tour began with tasting at a wonderful Norwegian grocery store where we tasted fish, pork, lamb, cheese and lingonberries. We also learned about the meat salting process. This was followed by a lovely walk, with Tonya explaining the wonderful sites of Oslo along the way. Our next stop an electric coffee shop where we had shrimp on toast, amazing. When she found out I made lease she had one of the employees show me how they made lease in their shop. Again an area we would.not found without the guidance of Tonya. Our next stop was at Salmon where we were educated on the salmon production in Norway, followed by salmon tasting, best I have ever had. We next took a walk around the Marina again to an area we would have never found on our own. The tour ended with some amazing Norwegian Ice Cream. I can honestly say this is one of the best Trip Advisor Tours I have ever taken. If you get the opportunity, book this tour, it is not to be missed.

Walking tour (with food bonus) - The food we tasted on this tour was amazing - local dishes with quality ingredients. Our tour guide took us around the downtown area, pointing out important sites and making recommendations. She was very informative and had great communication leading up to the tour. Please note that the cost of the food is extra and not included in the posted price.

Check what you're getting - Our group is still confused about the price structure of this tour. We've done lots of food tours around the world and have never had a tour advertised as a food tour where the food was separate. As I paid online here at Tripadvisor, I saw that there would be an additional $55 for food; however, there was no option to pay the extra money. I called the "help" number, and they told me the food was included and if we wanted some specialty foods we could pay the fee on site. I then wrote the tour guide directly who told me to pay at the event. When we arrived, we were told it would be $60. I just still don't understand the pay structure of this tour and feel that Tripadvisor/Quality Tours should be explicit about the fee and what you get for that fee. We enjoyed the experience at the meat market and the man who talked to us about the Norwegian products and he gave us a plate of samples. The tastings we had thereafter all involved fish. The only dessert/sweet was a large candy bar she pulled from her bag. Some more variety would have been appreciated. The tour went on far beyond the scheduled time.

Very unprofessional guide - The food is good. Guide was not. She started by sending me 8 messages changing time & meeting place twice. She talked non stop repeating herself often and giving us much wrong information. We walked at least 4 miles. At the end she asked if there was anything she could have done better. When I told her all the communication was confusing. She became very defensive. We tried to leave & she kept following us & trying to argue with me. I kept polite. Very disappointed. She was quite unprofessional
