A Warm Welcome to Cebu

Arriving in Cebu, I was greeted by Bobby, my friendly driver, who picked me up from the airport and took me to my Airbnb. Bobby’s engaging personality and willingness to share stories about Cebu made the short ride feel like a mini-tour of the city. His insights into local culture and history were invaluable, setting the tone for the adventure that lay ahead.

The next day, I embarked on the much-anticipated Oslob Whale Shark & Moalboal Adventure. Allan, my driver for the day, was just as friendly and engaging as Bobby. His enthusiasm for Cebu was infectious, and I found myself eagerly anticipating the day’s activities.

Swimming with Giants and Dancing with Sardines

The highlight of the tour was undoubtedly the whale shark snorkeling in Oslob. As I slipped into the water, the sheer size and grace of these gentle giants took my breath away. The boatmen were incredibly helpful, capturing stunning underwater photos and videos that I will cherish forever. It was a surreal experience, being so close to these magnificent creatures, and one that I will never forget.

After the exhilarating whale shark encounter, we headed to Moalboal for the sardine run and turtle chase. The sight of millions of sardines moving in unison was mesmerizing, and the thrill of spotting a turtle up close was unmatched. The boatmen were attentive, guiding us to the best spots to witness the vibrant marine life and coral reefs. It was a day filled with awe and wonder, and I felt a deep connection to the ocean and its inhabitants.

Exploring the Hidden Gems of Cebu

The tour also included a visit to Tumalog Falls, a serene and picturesque spot just a short drive from the whale shark area. The cascading waters and lush surroundings provided a perfect backdrop for relaxation and reflection. I opted for the motorbike ride down to the falls, which added a touch of adventure to the experience.

Throughout the tour, our guide Glaize was a constant source of knowledge and patience. Her ability to answer our endless questions with a smile made the experience all the more enjoyable. Her passion for Cebu and its natural wonders was evident, and it was a pleasure to learn from her.

Reflecting on my time in Cebu, I am grateful for the opportunity to explore its aquatic wonders. The combination of friendly guides, breathtaking experiences, and the chance to connect with nature made this tour truly unforgettable.
